Are there strong framing sentences that move the paper and “frame” each section or paragraph? 5. Are your quotations in “sandwiches”? Don’t forget to interpret what the quoted writers have said. The bottom bun on the sandwich is very important, but also don’t forget to set up each Q before you dive into it. 6. Are your quotations formatted correctly? See Purdue OWL for help on MLA quotations. 7. Don’t just put your experts in citation parentheses. Use your best experts to speak in your paper. 8. Make sure in-text citation is {Author page). No dates! No “pg.” No “pp.” No bold! If you mention the author in the text near that cited material, you don’t need the parenthetical except for page numbers. 9. Make sure your Works Cited is correct. Use a page break to get it to the top of its own page.
