The objectives of dissertation:The main objective of this report is to analyze the infrastructure of fresh food e-commerce companies and suggest improvement plan. It can be divided into the following sub-objectives:· Objective 1 – Identifying the shortcoming(s) of the existing infrastructure of fresh food e-commerce companies.· Objective 2 – Studying the applications of smart technologies to improve the infrastructure of fresh food e-commerce companies.· Objective 3 – Analyzing the benefits obtained by using smart technologies in improving the infrastructure.Chapter 2 – How competitors deploy supply chain backend?Expected Outline (below is the outline I suggested, you can modify it if better explain the study topic):1. The brief review of agricultural supply chain infrastructure in the development countries (US or Japan or both)· Production base: whether the majority of production base are automated and scaled? (Need data supported, in order to prove the US agricultural supply chain infrastructure is mature)· Transportation network: need data supported, in order to prove — the complete and convenient transportation network in the United States is an important reason for the development of cold chain logistics in the United States.· Cold chain logistics: what is the current situation for US cold chain logistics? Cold chain logistics circulation rate in US? (Need data supported, in order to prove the agricultural supply chain infrastructure is mature)2. How do leading companies operate fresh supply chains in the US/Japan? (more like a case study: focus on supply chain infrastructure such as supply sourcing and cold chain logistics)· Case companies: Amazon fresh/ FedEx/ XPO Logistics/ Americold Logistics (analysis at least two companies supply chain system to explain the problem)3. The applications of smart technologies (focus on supply chain infrastructure such as supply sourcing and cold chain logistics/ transportation)· What smart technologies do case companies implement and what is the benefit from technologies?
