Grammar Studies, The Journal of Communication, 1998, p. 1-5 Abstract – An abstract is a summary of the paper. In this section, in your own words, describe what the article was about making sure you cover the main points. You do not have to cite your source as it is understood that all information comes from this one article. Reflections/Critique – An important ability in business is the ability to reflect, judge, and critique and article or case. Just because an article is published doesn’t always mean it was well written. In this section, describe what you believe are the article’s strengths and weaknesses. For example, was it easy to understand (why or why not?), did it leave out any information that you expected it to include (what information, why would it have been important), did it have information that you felt was not necessary (why was it not necessary), did the title of the article reflect the content of the article (what did you think the article was going to be about). Do not say “This article was interesting, good, bad, etc.” unless you give specific examples to back up this opinion. What did you learn from the article?   Length – each topic has around 500 words. • Margins – One Inch • Use the words Abstract and Critique as your headings.
