What are your professional goals related to nursing? I view nursing as majorly a career rather than a job that primarily entails providing quality care to the patient regardless of race, ethnicity, background, and religion by treating the patients with respect, dignity, and compassion as a priority. I consider it not just an occupation, but as a professional career in the healthcare industry (Raymond, James, Jacob & Lyons, 2018). In my view, initially, the motivations for becoming a registered nurse (RN) professionally get much different from the reasons one stays in nursing professionally. Gradually, professional nurses will acknowledge that professional nursing practice is a serious career dedicated to protecting, promoting, and optimizing good health through injury and illness prevention. I still acknowledge that many nurses need to have a clear insight that a professional nursing career requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) certificate for knowledge expansion in management and clinical competency through the experience one goes through (Masters, 2020). As per my view, my professional nursing entails having the will to transform research evidence into practices regularly and getting committed to advancing the patient’s health and the nursing profession. My nursing career can get viewed as a job since I can obtain the least education required and be granted a job license through the minimum requirement, which is BSN that is required and gives the chance to further the education for the job. My career field meets the requirement of a reasonable work output for a reasonable pay since the services are on-demand from the patients. I end up working in shifts with other professional nurses in the clinical setting (Masters, 2020). Moreover, my nursing profession is a career indeed since an individual must obtain a BSN degree to become a professional nurse and get involved in informal and formal learning experiences across nursing’s professional career. I am joyfully and actively engaged in the professional nursing science and art practice. As a member, I am engaged in leadership roles associated with professional nursing activities within nurses’ professional nursing and healthcare agency. My professional goals in nursing care entail practicing quality care to the patients through full exploitation of the training and education for better patient outcomes as the American healthcare legislation requires. I need to identify the areas of strength and areas that require growth essentially to determine nursing professional goals. I have pursued more knowledge to narrow the limitations and improve the nursing profession’s strengths in the healthcare field. Furthering education will ensure that I remain competitive and informed of the upcoming expectations and procedures in the healthcare industry (Masters, 2020).
