An Online Course
The greatest challenge in completing an online course successfully is time management. Many students choose to take an online course because they feel it will save them time if they don’t have to commute to campus and attend a class. However, in some ways an online course takes more time than a traditional course and these students often fall behind early in the semester. To avoid this from happening I am requiring that each of you submit your personal weekly schedule. Here are the guidelines: 1. Be as detailed and specific about All of your time committments you have during a 7 day week. *** Make sure you Specifically mention time devoted to this class EDU 201-it should be 5-7 hours per week*** 2. Block out your time in hour increments for each day from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. 3. Include: Work hours + commute time, school hours + homework time and caregiving (for children or elderly family members) internship or other volunteer hours 4. For each class attending include a minimum of 3 hours a week for home-work/ test prep. For this class include a minimum of 5 hours a week total + time taken to read the text-book. On weeks that papers are due you should add an extra minimum of 2 hours. 5. Don’t forget to eat and rest:) 6. Be honest about the time you devote to home-work/ studying, if you know you don’t work well at night/ in the early morning, don’t schedule it for those times. To Show you that you are not alone in the struggle of work balance I am including my own schedule based on my actual life. You can use my template or create your own. You can also use the scheduler tool on blackboard. I will be reviewing each of your schedules and having phone or in-person meetings with each of you to provide feedback. You cannot move forward in the course without submitting this assignment and having my approval. **KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM WORKING AS A PARAPROFESSIONAL! **
