The healthcare industry was a little behind everything that was using analytic studies and information. The provider analytics is made up of organizations that include; hospitals, practices and doctor’s offices. The payer analytics would be the insurance firms with instructed medical chart records. The life sciences analytics is the medication and medical devices that has improved over the years through developing data. We also have the patient’s analytics and the ultimate consumer. The five level of analytical capability ask different questions at different levels. First, we want to ask what happened, then why did it happen. next we ask our self what will happen and what should be done. The analytics show the involve reporting, the scorecards, dashboards that have the primary focus with requirements that must be meet for improvement programs. The financial and operational areas include analytical applications to key factors driving by the provider institution. You have occupancy analytics that is reporting within a company. Quality and compliance reporting with regulations and requirements. Another is cost management on productivity and cost. Also, operational benchmarks are the operational performances like the length of stay. Clinical and patient safety domain includes analytics related to evidence-based medicine and clinical decision support, comparative effectiveness, patient safety, survival rates, and compliance with care protocols.
