As the paper requires that the criminal behavior be linked to “genetic or physiological evidence that supports the notion that biology or traits played a key role in explaining the offender’s criminality.” this will be of key importance in grading. This means that criminal behavior that is explained through early childhood abuse or post traumatic stress may not align with the specific requirements for this paper. Just keep this in mind when you are choosing what to write about. I see many students go on and on about all the gruesome details of the crime, but fail to hone in on the science. Writing in this manner will not earn full credit, because the instructions are not about a summary of a crime, but rather the connection between the behavior and biological causation. Also, one other requirement that is often overlooked is the requirement for academic sources. These are not sources such as CNN, FOX NEWS etc. but rather, published work by those working directly in the field of mental health or behavioral disorders.
