Directions:  Write at least 3 paragraphs. The purpose of this assignment is to ask you to formulate your own philosophy regarding technology and teaching.  The following is by no means an exhaustive list, but you may wish to include responses to these questions to get you started:   How has your knowledge base grown?   In what ways do you see the use of technology helpful and similarly in what ways do you see the use of technology hindering as it pertains to teaching and learning?   What are some essential elements to teaching with technology that have a positive effect on your teaching and your students’ learning?   How will you keep up with what industry may call “new technology” that will change the way you teach and the way your students learn?  Essentially, how will you continue to be a lifelong learner? How will you determine if a new piece of technology is worth your time and investment?  How will you communicate your philosophy to fellow co-workers? How do the technology standards support your philosophy?

What is your philosophy of education? Write at least 2 page of your teaching philosophy. What goals do you have for your students? Describe how you are going to teach young children who are individually, developmentally, culturally diverse?  Justify why you teach that way

In the Districts and Schools section of this website you can find one of these schools under the Baltimore city District, and click on one of them to find the statistics.  Part 1: The infographic Poster  Using Canva.com, you will create an infographic that ”tells the story” of one school. The point of infographics is to tell a story using numbers and images. The clearer the infographic, the better. What story about the school do you want to tell?  On the infographic you need to explain:  ? Who are the students attending the school? ? How are students performing at school? ? What is the school’s neighbourhood like?  To answer these questions use the statistics you found on the first website, and use statistics from these two websites: Baltimore Neighborhoods Indicators Alliance https://bniajfi.org  Baltimore City Schools (with more of the Maryland state data including satisfaction survey) https://www.baltimorecityschools.org  Your infographic poster must include the following:  ? the name of the school and the name of the neighbourhood ? a correlation, ratio or average that you calculated using Excel ? at least two different types of graphs ? no fewer than 7 numbers or quantitative measurements   When complete download the file from canva.com as a .jpg file and attached it separately from the word document to the file section of the order.  Part II: ”The Experts say” (This part is written in a word document)  Think about the story the infographic tells. What are some factors that affect this school’s academic performance? To complement this information you at least 4 sources from the file section order of this order. There’s a word document with links to videos and one article that could be useful as well.  In approximately 500 words, present expert opinions that help explain the story that you have presented in your infographic. Plan to present the findings from at least two of the articles or experts in the videos from the word document in the file section. For example, if you point out that x % of children come from homes living below the poverty line, what evidence can you point to from the experts that makes a relationship between poverty and academic success? (this is just a suggestion do not use this example on the final project). You should be putting numbers and quotations in context with full sentences. As well, you should include some type of graph/display that you describe in full sentences.  Citations: Use the APA format for in-text references, and cite the graphs appropriately.  References: Include the references of the articles you used in a works cited section.  Part III: Produce a one page profile (~300 words) that uses a character or situation from The Wire (season 4) that exemplifies what you have been talking about in Parts I & II. The characters you can choose from are Michael Lee, Duckie Duquan Weems, Namond Brice, Randy Wagstaff or Roland Przybewski. To continue with the example of the relationship between poverty and academic success, you might want to discuss what happened with Duquan throughout the show. You could begin by explaining his situation at the beginning of the show and then how it improved and then deteriorated as the show went on, highlighting the way poverty dictated so many of his decisions. (This just a suggestion do not use this example in the final project).  Submission: Submit parts 2 and 3 in the word document and part 1 separately as a .jpg file in the file section of this order.

·       Compare and contrast the details of the Tarasoff v. Regents of California (1976) and Estates of Morgan v. Fairfield Family Counseling Center (1997) court decisions. Identify how these cases may be similar or how they may be different. ·       Describe how the court rulings relate to confidentiality in the counseling profession. If two ideas are in conflict, it is impossible to support them both. A thesis statement should never be so broad that it’s difficult to discuss all of the relevant information. A thesis statement is an assertion that requires evidence and support, not a universally agreed-upon fact or an observation. A thesis is the main idea, not the title. It must be a complete sentence that expresses in some detail what claim you plan to support. A thesis statement has one main point rather than several main points. More than one point may be too difficult for the reader to understand and the writer to support. A thesis statement is narrow, rather than broad. If the thesis statement is sufficiently narrow, it can be fully supported. Persuasive Essay Outline: Introduction paragraph: Get the reader’s attention by using a “hook”. Pull your audience in! Anecdote, fact, something interesting to start essay Provide some brief background information about the direction of your topic. Explain what the topic is and why it is controversial or important to you. For example, if the focus of your essay is on the economic benefits of higher education, provide me with some background about how higher education impacts economics conditions. If your essay is about diversity, provide me with some background information about diversity as it relates to higher education. Thesis or focus statement – don’t forget to underline (Typically included as the last sentence of your introduction paragraph). This is a sentence stating your opinion about the topic and will be proven in the rest of your essay with at least 3 strong reasons and support. See Week 10 presentation for thesis guidelines Body Paragraphs (At minimum, you should have 3 body paragraphs): 1st Body Paragraph: First argument or reason to support your position Topic sentence explaining your first reason (see notes below on topic sentences)  Provide support/evidence to prove your first reason. Bring in facts, data, examples, etc. from the course reading. Be sure to correctly utilize in-text citations (MLA/APA) and rephrase quotations. 2nd Body Paragraph: Second argument or reason to support your position. Topic sentence explaining your second reason.  Provide support/evidence to prove your second reason. Bring in facts, data, examples, etc. from the course reading 3rd Body Paragraph: Counter argument and third reason to support position. (A counter argument paragraph is optional, however highly recommended, so that the reader will know you have considered another point of view and have a rebuttal to it.) State what the other side believes or may argue Example: Some may argue _______________ Challenge their argument with your third reason and provide support. Give support such as facts, data, examples, etc. explaining why your argument is stronger than the counter argument Conclusion Paragraph: Sum up your main points and 3 (or more) reasons. Bibliography/References Page Required Citations: You must properly integrate a minimum of 6 class sources (i.e. lectures, readings, discussions section meetings, videos, etc.) At least 3 of your 6 sources should come from the course readings. There is no limit on how many outside the classroom sources can be incorporated into your paper. Utilizing quotes: Step One: Introduce the quotation, paraphrasing in your own words is highly encouraged. Cite correctly. Step Two: Explain what the author is arguing in the quotation. (The author should agree with how you sum up the quotation – this will help you establish credibility, by demonstrating that you do know what the author is saying even if you don’t agree.) Step Three: State the implications of the quotation for your own argument. (What do you make of the author’s argument?) Topic Sentences: A topic sentence should encapsulate and organize an entire paragraph. When creating a topic sentence, ask yourself what’s going on in your paragraph.  Why have you chosen to include the information you have? Why is the paragraph important in the context of your argument or thesis statement?  What point are you trying to make?  It should be noted that relating your topic sentences to your thesis can help strengthen the coherence of your essay. Use a topic sentence to show how your paragraph contributes to the development of your argument by moving it that one extra step forward.

You will complete a Course Project in this course that will span two weeks. The final project is due the Sunday of Week 7. The project is broken into two parts. You will complete Part I in Week 6 and Part II in Week 7. In Week 6, Confidence Intervals will be explored and in Week 7 Hypothesis testing will be explored. A confidence interval is a defined range of values such that there is a specified probability that the value of a parameter lies within the interval. In Part I of this project, you will pick a topic, complete research and provide a write-up that includes calculations. Round all values to two decimal places when appropriate. Deliverables Choose a Topic where you can gather at least 50 pieces of data. Examples of Topics The Golden Gate Warriors Points Per Game in 2016 (use the points scored in the first 50 games). High School Graduation Rates by State (use the graduation rates for all 50 states) Average Tuition Rates in the US (You have to find the tuition rates of 50 college/universities). The prices of a hotel room per night in a major city (You have to find the price of the same night of hotels in one city). Weights of 50 babies at birth. Write at least a 1-Page Report Open a Word Document Introduction–Provide a description of your topic and cite where you found your data. Sample Data—Include a 5×10 table including your 50 values in your report. You must provide ALL of your sample data. Problem Computations—For the topic you chose, you must answer the following: Determine the mean and standard deviation of your sample. Find the 80%, 95%, and 99% confidence intervals. Make sure to list the margin of error for the 80%, 95%, and 99% confidence interval. Create your own confidence interval (you cannot use 80%, 95%, and 99%) and make sure to show your work. Make sure to list the margin of error. Problem Analysis—Write a half-page reflection. What trend do you see takes place to the confidence interval as the confidence level rises? Explain mathematically why that takes place. Provide a sentence for each confidence interval created in part c) which explains what the confidence interval means in context of topic of your project. Explain how Part I of the project has helped you understand confidence intervals better? How did this project help you understand statistics better?

Exact instructions are to follow below, however I only want the beginning of the essay written, perhaps just the intro and a solid body paragraph; Directions for Writing: Analyze and evaluate a written policy and argue whether this policy should be ended, amended/replaced, or maintained. Specifically, argue whether or not this existing or proposed policy produces or sustains greater equity (antiracist) or inequity (racist) based in part on race/ethnicity, and perhaps also on class, gender, sexuality, and/or any other relevant intersections. Develop your thesis by discussing main causes or reasons why this policy exists or is being proposed (are the ideas, systems, and interests responsible for this policy racist? antiracist? race-neutral? equitable/inequitable?) discussing the main effects of the policy (does/would the policy produce/sustain greater equity or inequity based on race and other relevant factors?) suggesting proposed solutions or alternatives to this policy (if you’re arguing it should be amended/replaced), and/or alternative ways of producing/sustaining equity that do not involve creating and implementing policy (e.g. changing the ways individuals think and act) As you develop your thesis by discussing the causes, especially effects, and possible solutions/alternatives to this policy, engage key definitions, ideas, arguments, and incorporate ideas, arguments (including at least one counter-argument), and evidence from other authoritative, relevant sources consider other evaluative criteria such as the scope, desirability, and feasibility of this policy  Textual/Research Requirements: Develop your thesis by citing arguments and evidence from at least three authoritative, relevant sources, at least two of which must be articles from academic journals. In selecting sources be sure to evaluate them based on their authority, relevancy, currency, sufficiency, bias/diversity of viewpoint, and overall worth. I have already discussed with my professor that the topic will be in regards to “Racial Tracking in Education” and that it should be ended.

1, Give a thorough description of what you are studying in your project, and what your assumption for the mean is?  I am studying all college students lives in New York. My assumption for the mean is that an average college student lives in NY dine out 2 times a week.   But I need you to write half page of explanation.     2, Explain what the population and sample are in your study. Explain how you collected the sample values in detail. If you gave a survey, clearly describe how and where the survey was administered.  I have created a survey to hand out some college students attending on my school and I made an online survey to collect the data from my other social media friend that lives all parts NY and goes to different types of schools.
