Due in Week 9 and Worth 300 Points Using your answers to the discussion questions throughout this course and the information you researched about social forces from Assignment 1, you will create a proposal to update the curriculum you used in Assignment 1. Remember to relate your answers to the student population, neighborhood demographics, alignment to state and national standards, and other issues that affect the curriculum. Write a 6-8 page paper where you address the following points: Identify the immediate issues with the curriculum. Address the following: test scores of the current curriculum needs to implement technology social forces revision of state and/or national standards Discuss who will be on your curriculum team. How will you ensure that you have a diverse team? Explain the role of key positions and who you expect to fill those positions. Describe how you will conduct a needs assessment. Use a variety of resources and methods, not just test results. Explore at least 3 current trends that include technology integration in the classroom and current methodology in your grade/subject area. In fact, “Boys are 30 per cent more likely than girls to flunk or drop out of school” (PBS, n.d.). As early childhood sets the stage for learning, which can have a tremendous influence in starting all children out on the right path, it is important that early childhood educators and leaders in the field understand the unique needs of each and every child that enters our classroom. Part of being a 21st-century educator encompasses meeting the needs of all children in our care and exhibiting an anti-sexist approach to teaching. For this discussion, we will take a closer look at how to specifically meet the needs of boys in our classrooms. Compare and contrast scholarly research on this topic. Find one recent (within 5 years) peer-reviewed scholarly article in the Ashford University Library on the topic of boys in schools. Are any facts refuted? How do these resources either support or refute your stance on this topic?  Reflect on your personal views and experiences with this topic. How will your experiences and views have a positive impact on your work with children and/or teachers in your career? What adjustments might you have to make after further researching this topic? How will you uphold best practices and ethical conduct for teaching boys in the classroom? Propose at least one activity that can be done in the classroom that models best practice for teaching boys.  Support your use of this activity by stating specifically how it aligns with best practices and the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct  (Links to an external site.).  Summarize your stance on this topic by creating a four-to-five sentence philosophy statement. In your statement, be sure to explain how your stance aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and how it is supported by theory. This short statement will be added to your overall philosophy of education.

Locate an article relevant to supervising school counsellors. It should be a peer-reviewed article that has been well researched. Since you will be writing a theoretical approach paper based on a chosen model for supervision, it would be helpful to review the approaches of articles before choosing to see if they fit the kind of supervisor you would like to be in practice. The article review should be 2 – 3 pages, typed, double-spaced, APA format with a title page, citations throughout and a reference page. Data collection and analysis are important parts of the improvement process. Organizational leaders must be able to read and interpret the results of the data analysis to determine what areas to focus on when developing an improvement plan.
