[SOLVED] The Supply Voltage
A coil, having both resistance and inductance, has a total effectiveimpedance of 50 ? and the phase angle of the current through it withrespect to the voltage across it is 45° lag. The coil is connected inseries with a 40 ? resistor across a sinusoidal supply (Fig. 10.15). Thecircuit current is 3.0 A; by constructing a phasor diagram, estimatethe supply voltage and the circuit phase angle.
[SOLVED] Privacy and Security
This week covered how privacy and security align with IG. I want you to research articles from any company from 2015 until now on how they implemented their Privacy and Security Policy for their organization. Identify the areas you feel were beneficial to the organization and identify areas they could have improved on. Make sure you identify how IG was incorporated into the article.
[SOLVED] Verbal and Nonverbal Messages
Why is it important to understand the three primary distinctions between verbal and nonverbal messages, especially considering the impacts of such messages in organizational communication?
[SOLVED] NIMBY
NIMBY is a concept that describes the negative attitudes against a project that benefits the greater community. This mentality is one in which even though people are generally supportive of a project that will benefit the greater community, they don’t want to suffer the burden of bearing the cost(s) of the project. In terms of power generation, one of the biggest reasons against power plants, especially wind farms, is “visual intrusion.” Opponents of projects like these don’t want an eyesore as well as any noise, negative impacts on wildlife and displaced agricultural land. Something else to consider is whether or not the project will have an effect on property values which can serve to bolster NIMBY sentiment. Having this mindset affects power delivery in that residents are forgoing access to more reliable power in favour of maintaining aesthetics or reasons like those listed above. This attitude halts progress and can ultimately waste money if proposed projects in an area where they have to jump through hoops to get local approval. Look at the Cape Wind Project for example, which was initially proposed in 2001 but died by litigation 16 years and 100 million dollars later. Boyle, K. J., Boatwright, J., Brahma, S., & Xu, W. (2019). NIMBY, not, in siting community wind farms. Resource and Energy Economics, 57, 85100. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.reseneeco.2019.04.004
[SOLVED] Material Testing
Throughout the semester we have mentioned the many different governing ASTM standards associated with material testing. One such test that we performed in the lab was related to ASTM C143 Standard Test Method for Slump of Hydraulic-Cement Concrete. Quite often the testing procedure from the ASTM standard has been simplified and included as the procedure in the textbook (Somayaji, Civil Engineering Materials). For this problem, review the actual ASTM standard and compare it to the simplified procedure covered on page 208 of the materials textbook (CON-1: Slump Test of Portland Cement). What are the similarities and difference between the actual ASTM C143 standard and the procedure outlined in CON-1? Are there any items removed in the simplified procedure that is discussed in the actual standard? Be sure to give specifics.

No submission is accepted.Question 1: [60 pts]In a petrochemical plant, a tank receives a liquid chemical from an incoming stream. In order to control the levelof liquid inside the tank, the pressure is monitored in the bottom while it is being filled. The tank is equippedwith a pressure relief valve on top that ensures the pressure inside the tank is the same as atmospheric pressure. The liquid has a density of 840 kg/m3 and the tank is 120 ft high.1. What is the pressure on top of the liquid being filled in the tank? [10 pts]2. If the gauge in the bottom of the tank is showing 35 psi, what should be the level of liquid in the tank (in ft.)?[25 pts]3. What value of gauge pressure (in psi) will you read in the bottom of the tank when it is full? [25 pts]Question 2: [40 pts]A steam turbine is used to generate power in an industrial process. Steam (water vapor) enters the turbine at atemperature of 650?. The absolute pressure of steam should not exceed 5 bar.An engineer was measuring the pressure and he found that gauge pressure was equal to 70 psi.1. Calculate the absolute pressure of steam that is entering the turbine. [20 pts]2. According to the calculated value in part a, is this pressure acceptable by the industry?
