[SOLVED] Golden Rule and Virtue Ethics

Assignment 3 Suggested Length: 750 to 1000 words Ethical Theories to Apply: Golden Rule and Virtue Ethics 1. Task You work in the Ethics Department for ABC Company (ABC). Your department is dedicated to advising its employees about their ethical obligations in the corporate setting. You are an internal consultant who provides advice and most importantly, recommendations for action to employees of the firm. All communications you receive in this capacity are confidential. Luke, an employee of ABC, comes to you with the following scenario and asks for your advice. He wants to fully consider the situation. Your task is to advise and recommend a course of action based on the specified ethical lenses and facts as given. Below are the facts that Luke provides to you. ***** Luke has been asked to work on a project that involves developing land recently purchased by ABC to build an adult entertainment retail store. According to the plan, the land is located on the corner of the neighborhood where Owen, Luke’s brother, lives. Luke knows that as soon as the plans for the store are made public, property values for the surrounding neighborhood will decrease significantly. ABC plans to publicly announce the project one month from today. Luke is concerned about his obligations of confidentiality to his company. However, Luke is also very close to Owen, who recently told Luke that he received an offer to sell his house at an “okay” price given the current real estate market. Owen is considering selling but hasn’t made any final decision yet. He wonders if he might get a better offer a few years from now when the real estate market improves. [SOLVED] Perception and Action

This is a formatted template for students to use for each critical writing homework response. It is formatted according to academic standards taught in high schools and colleges. There are several rules to learn with academic writing however once one learns them it becomes an automatic process. All of the formatting criteria for each week’s chapter assignment are in the course syllabus for students to compare to for accuracy before submitting their assignments for grading. Microsoft Word’s “Home screen,” contains all of the formatting tools described in this template. It is always best to practice on something that is not important. When beginning an assignment save the page immediately, don’t wait because there is always the possibility of losing one’s work. Each page is to look just like this template example with slight variation, as in paragraph size. This page is set for one-inch (1”) margins that are on all sides of the page, it is left-justified, which means that only the left margin maintains an even line compared to the right side of the page, which does not have the smooth margin line. Double lines are required as in this example. The font to be used with each homework response is Times New Roman, 12 points (pt.). The first sentence of every paragraph is to be indented by the one-half inch (as in this template). As a guide, paragraphs usually consist of approximately 5-6 sentences that contain specific content information, (specific points) that describe the student’s comprehension of the topic. When writing and presenting points evidence must follow. Evidence is proof, credible published research evidence. In everyday life, individuals do not always look for proof for the things said/professed, whether it is on television, newspaper, or spoken by a friend, or someone that is trying to sell a product. As stated, when describing the chapter reading topics, students must provide evidence for points that are being made. The selected credible source, the “textbook” contains many published authors acknowledged by the American Psychological Association. When writing critically the absence of evidence is considered to be an assumption, bias, or opinion, the words crumble without evidence and that is why personal pronouns are not to be used when responding to each homework assignment; “I,” “we,” “us.” “our,” “you,” are examples of personal pronouns. In academic writing students back up each point, they are presenting with cited quotes. The course syllabus provides a few basic examples of cited quotes. Three chapter quotes are required for each chapter response, two (2) from the textbook and one (1) from the Films on Demand video review. Quotes can be presented in different ways, two (2) examples are: According to Cheche (2020), “followed by the quote.” (p. 3), or by presenting the quote first to begin or within a sentence then cited as follows: “………” (as cited by Cheche (2020, p. 3). When quoting information from the author(s) other than the textbook authors use the following example: Moruzzi and Magoun (1949), discovered that electrical stimulation of the reticular formation of a sleeping cat caused it to awaken at once,” (as cited by Cheche 2020, p.44). What this tells the reader is that it is not Cheche’s words, rather a credible source used in his text. Don’t use et al. which means and others, when first citing three or more authors each are first to be introduced by the last name.

[SOLVED] Social Identity Questionnaire

Complete the Social Identity Questionnaire and ask someone from a different cultural background to do the same. Write a 2–to 3-page paper comparing and contrasting your responses to the questionnaire. Social identity theory (SIT) is based on social psychologist Henry Tajfel’s view that a person’s self-concept is based in part on group membership. The premise of SIT is that individual identities develop in the context of social groups of people with similar characteristics who typically share a sense of unity. A related concept is a social category, which is a group of people who may not interact but who share similar characteristics. The creation of group identities can result in “in-group” and “out-group” categorizations, with a tendency to view one’s own group positively. SHOW LESS This assessment requires you to compare aspects of your social identity to those of someone from a different cultural background to gain insights on how social identity can shape personal worldview, experiences, attitudes, and behavior. By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria: Describe the effects of culture, ethnicity, and diversity on the human experience. Describe personal and interviewee responses to the Social Identity Questionnaire. Analyze psychological research findings related to culture, ethnicity, and diversity. Identify possible explanations for the similarities and differences in responses, applying psychological theories or research. Apply psychological theories to issues affecting culture, ethnicity, and diversity. Analyze ways to enhance personal cultural competency. Support analysis by applying psychological theories or research. Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology. Cite scholarly evidence correctly according to current APA guidelines. Write in a manner that is scholarly, clear, and free of grammatical, spelling, and APA formatting errors. Reference Tajfel, H. (1978). The achievement of inter-group differentiation. In H. Tajfel (Ed.), Differentiation between social groups (pp. 77–100). London, England: Academic Press.

[SOLVED] Broca’s Area and Function

In the 1800s, a French doctor named Paul Broca studied several patients who had difficulty producing speech. One of these patients was nicknamed “Tan” because ‘tan’ was the only sound he could make; another could only say the words ‘yes,’ ‘no,’ ‘three,’ ‘always,’ and ‘Lelo’ (a mispronunciation of his own name). After these patients died, Broca examined their brains and found that they all had lesions (damage) in a specific part of the left inferior frontal lobe. Discussion Questions What part of the brain was damaged? How did the patient’s behaviour or abilities change as a result? What function do you think this part of the brain is responsible for?
