[SOLVED] GDP in the Digital Age

Is the GDP Still Accurate in the Digital Age? GDP is the sum of all income earned in a country during a year. Alternatively, it can be thought of as the value of all products in an economy during a year. But do income and production measure happiness? The way we measure GDP can both overstate and understate people’s happiness and well-being. It understates economic activity and well-being when it does not take into account production that is not exchanged in a market (grandma providing free baby-sitting) and leisure time. It overstates well-being when two otherwise identical activities are measured the same even though one produces more pollution. Reply to these questions to begin your discussion: Should we continue to measure GDP as we do now? If you don’t think it should be changed, explain your reasoning. If you think it should be changed, what changes would you recommend, and why?

[SOLVED] Traveling Abroad

Description: ?The speech should be 4-6 minutes in length. ?You must provide to me a comprehensive outline, featuring an argument that is ?specific to the audience you have chosen? and attempts to convince them to take some sort of stance, action, or attitude towards the issue you’re discussing. The speech should feature? 3-4 main claims?, with at least ?two pieces of evidence? for each claim. Additionally, you must use ?two identifiable strategies that are directly targeted at convincing this particular audience. The outline is required at the beginning of your speech (so please have your own speaking/delivery outline to use during presentation of your speech). There are penalties for going over or under the required time limits. This means you will need to practice your speech sufficiently to be sure the content is developed according to the assignment guidelines. In addition, at least ?five scholarly ?references (listed in a “work cited” section at the end of your outline) are required. Cite your sources in the official way, so you will need to learn proper end citation (see links on the next page). While you may use Wikipedia, dictionaries and encyclopedias as a jumping off point to begin researching your speech, they ?do not count toward the five (5) sources required in your speech. I want to get you to using these sources as “getting started” research, with your referenced research from current and relevant books, magazines, newspapers, and academic journals. All ?five (5!) ?of your research sources? must be ?verbally/explicitly cited? within the speech as supporting material for claims that are made or evidence that is offered. As with the previous assignment, these works cited sources cited must be credible and peer-reviewed: Is the article/book/etc relevant? Does it come from a reliable source (instead of a blog or a random internet site)? Is it current (within the last 7 years or so)? Are the research studies large enough? Is the article written by an expert on the subject (with their credentials easily accessible)? Is the book/article/etc citing its own research and sources? You need a work cited page (added at the end of your preparation outline or on a separate page, your choice). Work cited must be in either MLA or APA style ?only. ?It doesn’t matter which documentation you use, but choose one and use it consistently. APA and MLA citation styles may be accessed at: (APA) ?https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ (MLA) ?https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ You may use PowerPoint, notecards, handouts to aid in your speech delivery, but ?you may NOT simply read your speech off them. ?Remember that your goal with delivery is extemporaneous speaking. ?The use of visual aids is completely optional, but if your presentation relies on the use of a visual aid, make sure to have a backup plan in case the technology in the classroom doesn’t work.

[SOLVED] Poor Leadership

Applied Research Proposal You began your research proposal in Unit 2 and Unit 3 when you completed the first drafts of the Problem Statement and Literature Review. Now it is time to complete an abbreviated version of a formal research proposal on your criminal justice issue and submit it. The following structure (and page counts) can be used to guide the development of your Applied Research Proposal.  NOTE: If you are proceeding on to CJ598 or HM598, you will NEED TO SAVE your graded Unit 6 assignment, as it will form the basis of your Unit 1 Assignment in CJ598 or HM598. Similar to CJ graduate students, Homeland Security and Emergency Management graduate students going on to HM598 after CJ525 will further refine their research proposals that they started in CJ525. The length of the final research proposal should be 9–12 pages long (not including title page, reference section, or appendices), double-spaced, and use APA formatting. Each proposal should have a title page with name, date, course, term, title, running head; using APA format. Your proposal should include the following headings and subheadings (minimum page counts are provided in parentheses): I. Proposal Timeline: Using the percentages mentioned in the unit Reading, create a timeline (with actual dates) for the completion of each step in your proposed study. II. Introduction (1 page): This would be an edited version of the introduction you completed from the Unit 3 Assignment. III. Problem Statement (1–2 paragraphs): Insert the problem statement that you created earlier in this course. Make sure you make corrections or revisions, as needed. IV. Literature Review (3–4 pages): Again, insert the literature review that you completed earlier in this course, after making any necessary corrections or revisions, following feedback from your professor. V. Methods (4–5 pages): Outline how you would propose to conduct your applied research study. Make sure to address the following items: Main concepts to be studied (e.g., substance abuse treatment and recidivism). Conceptual and operational definitions for your primary study variables. For example, you might conceptualize recidivism as re-offending following completion of a substance abuse treatment program; and you might operationalize recidivism as any conviction for a crime occurring within one year of program completion. Research hypothesis/questions that the applied study would address/answer were it to be conducted. Sampling design or strategy for your study. Explain how you would identify members of the population and how you would select the study sample. Research design. Will the data be quantitative, qualitative, or both? Would the study involve: experimental design, quasi-experimental design, process evaluation design, outcome evaluation design, cross-sectional or longitudinal design, etc.? Explain the rationale for your selections. Data collection. How would you collect the data? Would you use quantitative surveys/questionnaires, qualitative interviews, participant observation, focus groups, and/or secondary data, for example? Discuss any data collection tools you would use, including examples of questions you might ask or data fields that you might collect. Ethical considerations. Describe how you would ensure the protection of any human subjects and confidentiality of data for your proposed study. VI. Conclusion (1 page): Provide a summary of the problem and plan for studying the issue, emphasizing why the research is important and what would be accomplished were the proposed study to be conducted. Demonstrate college-level communication through the composition of original materials in Standard American English. Use examples to support your discussion. Cite all sources on a separate reference page at the end of your paper and cited within the body of your paper using APA format. Save your Assignment in the following format: Last name First name Assignment. (Example: SmithJohn_Unit6_Research Proposal).  Submit your Assignment by selecting the Unit 6 Assignment: Dropbox by the end of Unit 6.

[SOLVED] The Principles of Federalism

Please read one of the following Supreme Court decisions (you will need to look them up online): Lawrence v Texas (2003), Gonzales v Raich (2005), Kelo v New London (2005), King v Burwell (2015) or Obergefell v Hodges (2015); then given what you have read about federalism in chapter 3 explain briefly in a two-page essay whether you believe the case was correctly decided based upon your understanding of federalism. Strong essays will engage in legal reasoning in the case. Please do not editorialize over policy or provide an opinion piece applying your personal morals. It is quite possible that you may be in support of gay marriage morally and find the legal reasoning applied by the dissenters valid in regard to how they apply the principles of federalism. Or vice versa. In addition, I may be in favor of universal healthcare but find that the legal reasoning applied in King v Burwell to be incorrect or vice versa.
