Purpose of Nursing
Ask five nurses the following question. Ask the question without explanation or expansion. Tell them you are doing a class project and need the following question answered. There are no right or wrong answers. What is the purpose of nursing? Ask five laypersons the exact same question in the exact same manner. Summarize your findings and report to the class. When you complete this project, you will have just completed your first qualitative research project. Albeit an abbreviated one, but nonetheless, a qualitative study.
Risks and Opportunities in Business
MBA 640 Final Project Milestone Three Guidelines and Rubric Overview: The final project for this course is the creation of an external capital funding proposal. Most businesses face a landscape of uncertainty and a never-ending stream of risks and opportunities. Managers must continually project the likely financial impact of decisions, make recommendations, act on those decisions, determine how to pay for them, and evaluate the costs and effectiveness of what has been done. Many decisions are short-term, routine, and operational. Others are longer-term investment decisions that require substantial new resources, such as developing new services, expanding into new geographic markets, or undertaking business combinations or spin-offs. Each requires managers to forecast, plan, and make decisions based on a thorough understanding of both internal and external factors that can affect a companys financial success. For the summative assessment in this course, you will bring your finance and economics knowledge to bear by preparing an external capital funding proposal for major international investment at a publicly traded corporation. In order to secure the support of potential financial backers, your proposal will need to lay out what the proposed investment opportunity is, how it fits within the companys broader mission and goals, its financial impact, and the amount being requested and why (including alternative funding mechanisms considered). In addition, it will also need to include information on the organizations context, risk factors, and microeconomic assumptions that could affect the success of the investment. Prompt: Submit a short paper that addresses Section III, Part C; Section V; and Section VI of the final project. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: III. Justification: C. Financial impact. This section should discuss the projects most likely financial implications and the consolidated financial projection with and without the project. Be sure to 1. Project the incremental, annual, and cumulative cash benefits and outflows associated with the proposed expansion for the next seven to 10 years, using a spreadsheet or other relevant presentation vehicle to support your narrative. Be sure to justify your assumptions and methodology based on sound microeconomic and financial principles. For example, what assumptions have you made about demand, price, volume, capital purchase costs, incremental hiring, and so on? 2. Develop a consolidated financial projection of revenue, pretax income, and cash flow for the overall business, over that same number of years, both with and without the proposed investment. Use a spreadsheet or other relevant presentation vehicle to support your narrative, being sure to describe any relevant assumptions. V. Financing: In this section, compare the proposed loan to alternative financing methods. Specifically: A.Weigh the pros and cons of raising money using internal financing mechanisms versus seeking funding through global capital markets via loans, commercial paper, bonds, or equity financing. Which might be viable alternatives should the loan not be approved? Support your answer with appropriate research and evidence. B. Assess the viability of a business combination as a mechanism for expanding into the new market. Is this a reasonable option for the company? Why or why not? Support your answer with appropriate research and evidence. VI. Track Record: Use this section to persuade the lender that you are credit-worthy. You must: A. Convincingly argue that your organization is on the solid financial footing, and thus at low risk for default, supporting your argument with appropriate financial statements, ratios, and other indicators of financial performance and health. B. Convincingly argue for your organizations trustworthiness, providing credible evidence of legal and ethical financial behaviour. For example, this might include recent audit results; credit history; absence of significant lawsuits, recalls, or regulatory judgments; or other evidence designed to show that the company holds itself to the highest legal and ethical standards.
Types of Coding
Note: Please note this assignment does not involve any software. This is to be done manually using the coding schemes within your textbook in Ch. 15. Part 1: Download the “Sarah: Diabetes Interview” transcript from the Saldaña and Omasta (2018) Student Resources webpage. Read the transcript beginning with the question, Going back to how you learned about diabetes, what sources did you learn about the condition from? Where did you learn about diabetes once you were diagnosed? on page 3. Read the section a second time. This time, look for specific words that are repeated or stand out. List the specific words you identified. When you think about coding you are looking for overall themes. What specific words provide the meaning of the transcript? Not all wordsspecific ones. Condense the transcript beginning with the question, Going back to how you learned about diabetes, what sources did you learn about the condition from? Where did you learn about diabetes once you were diagnosed? on page 3 and continuing through the end. Your goal is to condense the interview from 1,501 words to about 500 words. This should be a summary of the transcript, not just repeating the same words, condensing to 500 words. Part 2: Download one of the transcripts from the Saldaña and Omasta (2018) Student Resources webpage. Choose a section of about 300 words from the interview transcript you selected. Consider which two of the following four coding methods (In Vivo, Process, Values, or Emotion Coding) would be most appropriate for analyzing the text. Code the text using each method you selected. Note: You must code the selected section of text twiceonce for each method you choose. Compare the results and prepare a 150- to 300-word summary discussing how the different coding methods employed helped reinforce each other or provided divergent analytic insights. Provide the actual text you are coding and how you coded it.
Coffee Bistro and Bakery
Assignment: I have to complete a presentation, which I plan to do the voice-over myself. Scenario: You are a marketing consultant for a specialty coffee bistro and bakery. The business has been operating for about a year and is still not earning a profit. Your role is to determine the breakeven point and make recommendations on changes to one or more of the 4 P’s: Product, Price, Promotion, and Place. Breakeven Point: The breakeven point (BEP) is the point at which total cost and total revenue are equal. A breakeven analysis calculates the BEP as Breakeven Point = Total Fixed Costs / (Unit Price – Unit Variable Cost) or BEP = F / (P-V) In our example, the BEP = Total Fixed Costs / (Average Order Price – Variable Cost per Order). Using this formula, what is the breakeven point? In other words, how many orders would need to be sold before the business starts making a profit given the current price and cost structure? Here’s the information you need to do the bistro’s BEP analysis: Current Orders per Month 750 Average Order Price $11.00 Variable Cost per Order $5.00 Rent per Month $2,000.00 Utilities per Month $400.00 Labor per Month $3,000.00 Calculate the BEP using the numbers and formulas above. Hint: total fixed costs, in this case, are the sum of rent, utilities, and labor. Recommendations: In order to be profitable, the business will need to either increase revenue or decrease expenses. Make three recommendations on changes to the Product, Price, Promotion, and/or Place that would be likely to increase revenue, decrease expenses, or both. Be creative and have fun with your ideas! Here are some examples of questions you could ask to help with your analysis: What changes could be made to the product to reduce variable costs? What changes could be made to prices to increase revenue, and how would you justify those price changes? Is increasing price the only viable pricing strategy, or could lower prices lead to increased orders beyond the bistro’s BEP? What changes could be made to promotions (e.g., advertising, discounts, sales, loyalty programs) to increase the number of orders per month, remembering that promotions are expenses? After you calculate BEP, make three recommendations and be sure to explain why you believe your recommended changes could achieve the business objectives of reaching profitability by either increasing revenue or decreasing expenses and recalculate the BEP based upon your recommendations to ensure that your recommendations result in profitability. Assignment: Create a three slide VoiceThread presentation with a voice comment (three minutes maximum length) that includes your BEP calculations and three recommendations on changes to the 4 P’s: Slide 1 – Introduction: include your name, instructor’s name, course, and assignment due to date Slide 2 – Breakeven analysis Slide 3 – Three recommendations for changes to the 4 P’s
Dimension of Literacy
1. Identify two books that your students will read. Make sure the books are grade-level appropriate and align with your content area. See the rubric for specific requirements. You must provide your grade level and content area of licensure in the assignment. 2. Combine the course readings with independent research on literacy assessment strategies in order to create plans to assess students’ literacy focusing on each dimension of literacy – oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. 3. Make sure that your plans connect to the books that your students will read by including specific vocabulary from the book in word-based assessments and include specific comprehension strategies when assessing comprehension. Make sure to plan for assessing phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency even if you plan to teach at the secondary level. 4. Cite the credible sources you found through your research on literacy assessment to create your plans.
Practice Nursing Interventions for Diabetes
Create a 10-15 slide PowerPoint presentation on the study’s findings and how they can be used by nurses as an intervention. Include notes for each slide and additional slides for the title page and references. Include the following: Describe the intervention or treatment tool and the specific patient population used in the study. Summarize the main idea of the research findings for a specific patient population. The research presented must include clinical findings that are current, thorough, and relevant to diabetes and nursing practice. Provide a descriptive and reflective discussion of how the new tool or intervention can be integrated into nursing practice. Provide evidence to support your discussion. Explain why psychological, cultural, and spiritual aspects are important to consider for a patient who has been diagnosed with diabetes. Describe how support can be offered in these respective areas as part of a plan of care for the patient. Provide examples. You are required to cite a minimum of 3 sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and relevant to nursing practice.
Change Management Model
Prepare and submit an 8 10-page paper that applies a change model such as Kotters 8-Step Process or the Change Path Model to an actual organizational change initiative. The paper should describe the organizational challenge identifying the type of change required and discuss the need for organizational change as well as propose a strategy and action plan to implement the change describing the steps you and others will take to make the desired state a reality, and describe 4 5 specific results you expect from the successful implementation, identifying 3 success measures, and one specific first step. Support your analysis with five or more scholarly sources. The paper is to be written about police reform within the united states (how it is now, versus how it needs to be changed through different forms of training and gaining the community’s trust).
Nurses as Advocates
In a Microsoft Word document of 5-6 pages formatted in APA style, you will describe the advocacy process. Whether nurses are advocating for their patients, health care, and/or policies that improve peoples lives, the advocacy processes have commonalities that transcend the subject of their advocacy. There are also differences, although these differences may be more nuanced than obvious. Review the following chapters from your course textbook: Taking Action: Nurse, Educator, and Legislator: My Journey to the Delaware Senate Taking Action: A Nurse in the Board Room Respond to the following questions based on your readings: Describe what you believe to be the drivers for each of the individual advocates. What factors led the individuals to become advocates? Discuss the challenges that each of the individuals identified in their writings. Analyze these drivers and challenges and compare them with your own experience to date as an advocate. In what ways do you believe you can expand your advocacy skills within the next five years? On a separate reference page, cite all sources using APA format. Please note that the title and reference pages should not be included in the total page count of your paper. Use APA guidelines for writing style, spelling and grammar, citations, and references. Read the following chapters from your course textbook: Taking Action: Nurse, Educator, and Legislator: My Journey to the Delaware Senate Taking Action: A Nurse in the Board Room Formatting your paper. An introduction is required. An introduction should prepare the reader as to what will be discussed in the paper. Answer the four required questions. Write and number the question as a heading (1-4). Clearly identify each role you are discussing for each question. Describe what you believe to be the drivers for each of the individual advocates. What factors led the individuals to become advocates? Discuss the challenges that each of the individuals identified in their writings. Analyze these drivers and challenges and compare them with your own experience to date as an advocate. In what ways do you believe you can expand your advocacy skills within the next five years? A conclusion is required. A conclusion should refocus the reader to the main points that was discussed in the paper. References and citations are required. All references are required to be cited within the text.
Life Cycle Assessment
This job is mainly for making a new framework for life cycle assessment for Single Stream Recycling (SSR). There are academic papers that discussed this problem but they limited their study on a single material. The concept of SSR is to mix all accepted recyclables in one single container. Therefore, making an LCA framework for SSR is essential. What I want to see is a full document addressing all previous studies that did a life cycle assessment of material recovery in all recycling strategies. The recycling strategy includes single-stream recycling, dual-stream recycling, mixed waste recycling, and pre-sorted recycling. Then we propose the new framework for SSR. We can divide this task into 5 major milestones. Milestone #1: Introduction Milestone #2: Background Milestone #3: Methodology Milestone #4: Proposed LCA Theses two studies are very important 1- A generalized multistage optimization modeling framework for life cycle assessment-based integrated solid waste management 2-Analysis of material recovery facilities for use in life-cycle assessment 3- Life cycle assessment of municipal solid waste management methods: Ankara case study
[SOLVED] Cost Allocation and Accumulation
Saouma Manufacturing Company has two departments, machining and finishing. For a given period, the following costs were incurred by the company as a whole: direct material, $400,000; direct labour, $90,000; and indirect production, $40,000. The grand total was $530,000. The machining department incurred 50% of the direct-material costs, but only 10% of the direct labour costs. Indirect production costs amounted to $10,000 in the machining department and $30,000 in finishing. Three products were produced using the following proportions of direct material and direct labour in the two departments. Product Direct Material Direct Labor, Alpha 20% 50%, Beta 40% 10%, Gamma 40% 40%, Total for the machining department 100% 100%, Alpha 60% 10%, Beta 30% 20%, Gamma 10% 70%.Total added by finishing department 100% 100%. As is commonplace, indirect production costs incurred by each department were allocated to products. in proportion to the direct-labour costs of products within the departments. Compute the total costs incurred by the machining department and added by the finishing department. Compute the total costs of each product that would be shown as finished-goods inventory if all the products were transferred to finished stock on completion.
