For the music paper, you must create 500 to 600 words of written text. You need to select a program on Youtube to watch. As a first step read an article about the type of music or dance you have chosen to watch. So if you pick Salsa, for instance, search the article for information about the instruments used, the choreography presented, the types of rhythm and sounds that are presented, the kinds of lyrics that are developed. Then pick a Youtube program that presents a major artist or artists doing a performance.  Since this is part of the international education component of the course you may not use American musicians or American based compositions i.e. no Japanese rock and roll for instance. Select a style of music that originated abroad i.e. classical music and composers that worked in Europe, opera created by European artists, Latin American music such as the lambada, the macarena, the salsa, the tango and the list goes on, traditional forms of Asian music such as Japanese music or Chinese music, or forms of African tribal music. As you watch the presentation select two of the songs that are performed. Tell me who created them, what the songs symbolize, what kinds of lyrics and instruments are used, what the songs sound like i.e. rhythm, tempo, pitch etc.  Some of these types of music are closely associated with dance or ballet. So if the music includes elements of either of those, briefly describe their impact on the production. Also briefly describe your aesthetic response to each piece of music. Whatever you watch electronically cite the program using MLA style.

This research term project aims to learn about the global corporation with ISO certification and its strategic planning and quality management systems that have occurred in the past 20 years or between 2000 – 2020. Students will work as a team to research, discuss, analyze, and report information to their classmates and the course instructor.  The selected global corporation must have ISO certifications within the past 20 years. Your research and writing must include the following topics: Identify the different types of customers for each organization.  Identify customer and employee needs. From your study and point of view, explain the current problems of this organization and how they can solve these problems and improve their situation.  Make recommendations to the company on how to be better for its stakeholders. follow the APA style 6th or the latest edition. Some additional information and details can be added to the Appendix section.  In your writing, students are encouraged to use tools and techniques learned from this class in your analysis and data presentation (e.g. SWOT, Pareto chart, cause-effect diagram, priority matrix, PDCA, DMAIC, why-why, affinity diagram) 

For this assignment, you can use your current social media accounts, or create new ones, as you reflect on the significance of the Internet and social media and what it means for you. Communication and media have changed a great deal in just the past decade. Take a moment to think about mass media and some of the ways it influences American culture. Now think how it has affected you personally. Consider the advertisements, news stories, and other media images and content you have encountered or interacted with today. Reflect on the overall effect of these media. Are these positive messages, negative messages, or do they have another effect?

Select and complete one of the following assignment options to explain the formative influence of mass media on American culture. Write a 350- to 700-word summary in which you answer the following questions: What were the major developments in the evolution of mass media during the last century? How did each development influence American culture? What is meant by the term media convergence, and how has it affected everyday life?

You may also find additional online information from reputable grant-related organizations, such as the Foundation Center and individual private funders. Remember that this content must demonstrate that it addresses funder interests as well as the grantee perspective. In 3–5 pages, provide your Methodology and Evaluation Plans. In developing the methodology for your project, keep these thoughts in mind: A project should undertake only activities that will move it toward the objectives. If any activities are not necessary for reaching the objectives, do not include them in the proposal. The methodology includes the day-to-day, week-to-week, and/or month-to-month activities that will be carried out during the project period. The Methodology includes Program description, Research design, Human subjects (sample), Study validity and reliability, Assumptions and limitations, Timeline, Analysis (and/or see Evaluation below), Non-personnel resources, Facilities, supplies, technology, etc. Any non-personnel resources that will appear in the proposal budget should be described: Personnel resources. Who will be assigned or hired? Management plan (Work plan): Who will be responsible for which activities, What is the timeline associated with activities (first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, fourth quarter, ongoing)? How will the project be managed? The Evaluation Plan includes Description of the specific criteria that will measure the success of the project, Explanation of data that will be collected, Verify if your grant application will require an institutional review board (IRB) approval. Explanation of the data collection plans at the beginning, mid-program, and final evaluation. Evaluation instruments that will be used and an explanation of why these instruments were selected. Plans for writing the periodic reports to keep the funder updated.
