Pretty straightforward, must answer the following questions about the Controlled Substance Act of 1970:   What was/is the intended purpose of the Controlled Substances Act 1970? How and who enforces Controlled Substance Act regulations? How and why are drugs classified/scheduled?  What are the medical and legal issues surrounding rescheduling marijuana?

Glenn Slemmer was a successful options trader and consultant for investment clubs. One of these clubs was called Profit Design Group (PDG). Slemmer set up an account for PDG with a brokerage firm. He had control of the account and could make decisions about buying and selling stock options. He was not authorized to withdraw funds from the account for his own benefit, but he did so. Slemmer made misrepresentations to the club members about the account and eventually emptied it. Slemmer was arrested.  You are the judge in the case.  1. One of the defining features of the United States is its Constitution. In an age when many were ruled by monarchs imbued with a “divine right” to lead, the Founders were keen to articulate that the U.S. government’s power would come from its citizens.  While a wonderful expression, in reality there were certain citizens whom the founders wished to exclude from politics, and what is more, certain powers that they felt only the states should be able exercise. Using chapters 2 and 3 of the course’s textbook, make an argument for or against expanding the rights of states.  Do you think the Constitution is clear in supporting your argument, or do you feel that you would need amend it?  Is there a policy issue that you think illustrates your point? Read the Texas Bill of Rights from Article I of the Texas Constitution (http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/CN/htm/CN.1.htm). Pick any of the sections from the Texas Bill of Rights What is the right that is mentioned? What does it mean (in your own words)? Find a Supreme Court case (US or Texas) dealing with the issue brought up by the right you are mentioning. What were the facts of the case? What right did the person claim they had?
