Discuss why.   I believe that the confession made by Mayo was indeed a valid one. I say this because as soon as the incident happened there was an immediate confession from Mayo. He instantly did not try to deny the fact that he shot Scowen. The confession clearly stated that it was written Voluntarily, and the investigative report stated he acknowledged and signed the waiver prior to writing the confession. In reference to the, Brown v. Mississippi case the police can’t beat an admission out of you: any such explanation can’t be entered as proof. According to the text, crime has been part of the human condition since people began to live in groups. Ancient documents indicate that conduct we now call murder, theft, or robbery was identified as criminal by civilizations that existed thousands of years ago. Criminal laws regulate human conduct and tell people what they can and cannot do and, in some instances, what they must do under certain circumstances. Clients often require case management services because they find themselves unable to approach agencies on their own behalf. This may be due to physical or mental health issues, and case managers can help clients through advocacy. There are many ways that case managers can advocate for clients. Every president since 1945 has faced new circumstances and made decisions that have (often) helped to increase the power of the presidency. Choose a president we have covered in this class, serving after 1945, and consider their response to a major crisis or issue during their tenure in office. (The topic should be one you have not written about in a previous CT assignment). Once you have selected a topic, research the range of response options available to the president, either emanating from their advisors, public pressure, party politics, or their own inclinations, etc. Find at least two (2) primary sources that are closely related to the crisis or the president’s response. Your 8-10 page paper is not simply ‘what I did on my internship’ narratives. Nor is it a research paper. I do not expect you–nor do I want you–to do additional readings beyond what I’ve assigned to you.
