Now, for the play/film pair that you chose, address all parts of this question.

Clearly identify two scenes from the written play that also appear in the film (however loosely) that you think are significant to the overall story, and explain why.
Offer an assessment of how well you think the film portrayed the two scenes. In other words, was the film’s portrayal of these two scenes effective or ineffective? Why?
Use at least two of the terms and concepts from the Learning Resources for the module explain why the scenes portrayed in the film were effective or ineffective. For example, perhaps the film used specific music and lighting in a scene to effectively emphasize the tension of the scene. Note the names of the figures who hang out at Joe Clarke’s porch: Joe Lindsay, Jim Merchant, Walter Thomas, and Moss. How might these names be symbolic? How does their dialogue help characterize Delia? How does their dialogue help characterize Sykes?

Hurston’s stories (like Mark Twain’s) are known for their use of phonetic, regional dialect, in which character’s accents and pronunciations are reproduced phonetically. Did this add or take away from the story for you? Why?

The NAAL editors say that Hurston “rejected the idea that a black writer’s chief concern should be how blacks were being portrayed to the white reader. William Faulkner – Barn Burning Options Menu: Forum
Where does Abner Snopes’s rage come from? A glitch in his personality? A reactionary protest against the inequities in the class system that have destined him to a dead-end life as a sharecropper? An existential agony of which he himself is only dimly aware?

Faulkner gives us little insight into Abner’s motivation, even going so far as to tell the story largely through the perspective of a young child who can’t possibly fathom why Abner behaves as he does. Is Faulkner hiding something from us as readers, or is he underscoring the primal, inexplicable nature of Abner’s rage?

Examine the boy’s “interior monologues,” the italicized parts of the story. What do these tell us about the boy, about others, about Faulkner’s style(s) of narration?

What is the role of women in the text? What about single/independent women? What about the role of wife and mother?

Examine the references to the boy’s sisters and the places where his mother and aunt appear in the story. How and why does Faulkner describe these women the way he does?

What are we “to take” from this story? What is the central theme or message? Are there other themes or messages as well?

Once I was informed that I failed the assignment, I tried to rewrite a new paper which I sent it to my professor for a feedback. In her feedback, my professor told me that it still would not pass. Then, I followed the same procedure once again, by rewriting a completely new paper and once I sent it to my professor I received the same feedback that the paper still would not pass. That’s why I am sending you the last version of the paper which I sent to my professor which she told me that I still would not pass it. Moreover I am sending you the feedback which she sent me. Attached you can see all the details for my Emerging Cinematography assignment. Generally we have to develop 2 written reports. The first report, the illustrated research paper, is 3000 words + film script (word count for the script can be discussed with the writer). The film script goes into the Appendices and it is not part of the 3000 words that’s why the script can be as long as you want. But because it is a script for a 3-5 minutes film, I believe that around 3 pages will be enough.
The topic of the 1st report has to remain the same with the last version I sent to my professor because her feedback was on that specific topic. My topic is about the Afghanistan situation and the discrimination against women in the Afghan society.

Creativity is defined as the ability to bring to fruition what is imagined. While artists are generally labeled “creative”, non-artists find all sorts of ways to bring creativity into their lives. Hard work will get you from point a to point b, but creativity makes the ride a lot more meaningful.

This assignment asks you to reflect seriously upon your own creativity. In what ways could you be considered creative? The standard responses I usually get for this are “I’m creative in the kitchen”….which is no doubt true, but please go into some detail (okay, maybe not mind-numbing detail) about how what you do is creative, and what satisfaction or frustration you get out of this activity. Post a picture of your creative endeavor (for example: a lovely meal, a beautifully landscaped yard, a painting or drawing you’ve done, the deck you built last year, etc.)*
