Enforcement of drug laws is one of the many areas that both the federal government and state governments share. However, for over a decade, states have been legalizing either medicinal marijuana, or recreational marijuana, or both. Well, the election is proceeding. As I write this, Electors in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia haven’t met yet, and the outgoing administration is still trying to challenge the state-certified results of the election. What’s going to happen between now and noon on January 20, when the Biden administration will be sworn in? Neither I nor anyone can say with certainty. All I know for sure is that the ugly isn’t behind us. Given the way 2020 has gone, I worry about how it may look. But maybe I’m being too negative! Maybe it’ll be better than I fear.
