Please read (attached) pages 104-106 for Kohlberg and Gilligan, then pages 98-101 for Erikson’s psychosocial tasks at different stages of life. Read pages 465-466 for readings on SuicideMost of us have asked ourselves the question “Who am I?” at one point or another in our lives. Coon et al.(2019) discuss the difficulties teenagers face in establishing their own identity: “Many problems stem from the unclear standards about the role adolescents should play within society” (p. 110). Our text also explains that teenagers experience ambiguity, or unclear interpretations when defining their roles. This adds to their confusion of a clear and solid sense of self.More and more often we are seeing cases presented in the media about teens who have taken their own lives as a result of bullying and cyberbullying (Wang, 2016). Coon et al. (2019) have argued that adolescence is a tumultuous time. However, Karen Horneys theory explains that basic anxiety occurs because we live in a hostile world. An example is Wang’s report of a suicide by a 13-year-old girl in response to racial and social prejudice against perceived sexual orientation. How much does emotional turbulence versus social hostility count as an explanation for teen suicide? Or is it a combination of the two?Drawing upon Kohlbergs theory of stages of moral development, Gilligans theory of caring, and Eriksons psychosocial stages theory, discuss reasons why an adolescent might turn to suicide. Then, using one of these theories, suggest how to help a teen who has been a victim of bullying.must contain a citation from readings.200 word minimum
Gender Identity Disorder |Get Solution
ASSIGNMENTJohn Colapinto’s book As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who Was Raised a Girl introduces you to a story that examines the role of nature and nurture as influences on gender identity. David Reimer (Bruce Reimer) was unknowingly born a male but raised as a female. By comparison, Jennifer Boylan’s autobiographical book She’s Not There: A Life in Two Genders immerses you in the turmoil of her gender identity disorder and takes you through her transformation from male to female. In this paper, I would like you to use some of the scientific theories of gender identity in order to compare and contrast the relative influence of nature and nurture for David Reimer and Jennifer Boylan. Consider whether nature and nurture had the same relative influence in both cases or whether they were in stark contrast to each other. Be careful, as this is a deceptively simple paper! On the surface it seems very straight forward, but many issues need to be taken into consideration when addressing the following questions: What does being a boy/girl/man/woman mean to David Reimer and Jennifer Boylan? Is this a result of nature or nurture? What signaled gender to David Reimer and Jennifer Boylan (e.g., body parts, clothing, toys, friends, lovers)? Both David and Jennifer define and ultimately redefine their gender. How does this work both within and against complex social and cultural forces?minimum of 4 scholarly sources

Component 1: Essay The assessment is a 1500 word essay and it represents 50% of your final grade. It is due on December 17th and you will submit it through Turnitin. In this assessment you will be presenting 1 of the three theories we have discussed so far in class. This means your options are all the theories discussed during the term. The purpose of this component is that you demonstrate your knowledge of this theory as well as express some criticism towards your chosen theory. Structure of the Essay 1. Tittle. Start your essay with a tittle, think of a nice one that makes clear which is the theory you have chosen as well as some of the main points you are going to cover during your essay. 2. Introduction. The first thing you have to do in the intro is to explain the outline of the whole essay. This means mentioning the sections of your essay and briefly describing the content of these sections. Also, use this section to discuss some of the background of your theory, like the historical context in which the theory emerged, or the focus of psychology before the emergence of your theory. Another way to introduce an essay about a theory is if you start commenting on the general focus of your theory before you start talking about the specific concepts within the theory. 3. Main body. The main body of the essay is meant to develop the most relevant concepts of the theory. Try to create a narrative that brings together the different concepts and ideas of the theory in a way that makes sense and articulate the contributions of the theory. For example, if you chose psychoanalysis I would expect you to include an explanation of the three-fold structure of conscious, the psychosexual stages, the defence mechanisms, his ideas about drives and the analytic tools he developed. 4. Critique. Write this section to develop some criticism of your theory. Even if there is a lot of possible critiques, focus on one of them and develop the critique as much as you can. In order to do this, you can think questions like: what aspects of this theory dont work? Why? What are the limitations of this theory? What would be an alternative way to address this limitations? What could we gain if we do it differently? What have been some of the negative consequences of this theory? What kind of human behaviours of experiences cannot be explained by this theory? Etc. 5. Conclusion. Use this section to close the essay, but do it by focussing on this questions: How your theory looks like in today´s world? Discuss a little bit about how your theory has evolved, what has changed? And why it changed? Are the principle of this theory still useful today? Also make sure you summarize all the elements included in your essay to remind the reader everything they have read. 6. Reference list. Make sure your reference list is in proper APA format. And remember we are expecting a minimum of 4 references where at least one of them should be a book or article written by the main author of your theory (Freud, or Skinner, or Niesser). Remember one of your references could be the text we read before the lecture of your theory.
