In the unit, there must be systems thinking, which helps each person understand that they are each a part of the whole system. The family’s structure and processes are evaluated in family therapy as the therapists view the family as a complex, causal, and ongoing network of related parts that is larger than the individual members. When in family therapy, a person understands that organization and wholeness must be stressed (Wedding & Corsini, 2014). When each unit is combined, it creates a whole entity that is bigger than the self. While the family is one system, there must be subsystems as well that individual members belong to. FOr example, subsystems such as females, males, parents, and siblings can all play a role in how the family operates. The spousal subsystem, seen to be the most important, provides security and examples of commitment to the children (Wedding & Corsini, 2014). Sibling subsystems ensure that the children of the family learn to negotiate, compete, and cooperate with one another. This type of subsystem helps the children of the family eventually attach to others. In the psychodynamic view of family therapy, it is often best expressed by object relations family therapists who explain that people have a constant urge to connect with an object, which is usually another person (Wedding & Corsini, 2014). In this method, the loss of loved ones or unfulfillment in childhood is expressed through our relationships with others. In Experiential family therapy, it is believed that families need a growth experience sourced from an interpersonal experience. Experiential therapists believe that they can teach family members to be more honest and expressive of their needs if they are their authentic selves (Wedding & Corsini, 2014).Transgenerational family therapy believes that families are tied together in behaviors, thinking, and feeling. When individual problems occur, they are often maintained by connections with those in the family. However, it is important that the individual members of the family have a sense of self in order to avoid any dysfunction when familial problems arise (Wedding & Corsini, 2014).

Introduction to Psychology is a general education course designed to assist students in the development of critical life skills. One of the goals of this assignment is to assess student competence for each of these objectives. Written and Oral Communication explain how psychological data and theories have continually evolved and why study of these topics requires lifelong learning (CCO8) Critical Analysis and Reasoningapply major theoretical perspectives with data derived from psychological research to maximize self-management and self-improvement, and to resolve personal, relational, social and/or workplace situations (CCO4); Information Literacyfind, evaluate, use and cite research pertaining to psychology topics (CCO7) and evaluate the authenticity, timeliness, relevance and validity of psychological information (CCO 5) Local and Global Diversityevaluate the role of religion, race, class, gender, and ethnicity in the formation of behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions (CCO9); Personal and Professional Ethicsexplain the ethical considerations that govern psychological research with humans and animals (CCO6). Introduction to the Assignment: The consideration of diversity in psychology has been a relatively recent phenomenon. As you may have noticed in the chapter of your textbook that covers the history of psychology, the prominent figures in the early history of the field were white, educated, higher-socioeconomic status men. Moreover, researchers rarely included in their studies participants who represented a variety of diverse backgrounds such as gender, age, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religion, or ability. While the field of psychology is becoming increasingly more inclusive of diverse populations in both research and practice, too often we do not have the chance to learn about topics in psychology through these various lenses of diversity. Furthermore, we rarely consider the intersectionality of these lenses as they apply to psychological topics. As you know, there are several lenses of diversity for example, race, class, gender, sexuality, age, and ability; each has its own dynamic, but a dynamic that can only be truly understood in relationship to the others (Andersen & Collins, 2013, p. xii). This assignment provides an opportunity for you to examine a topic in psychology that interests you through three lenses of diversity. Moreover, through this assignment, you will get to examine the intersectionality or interconnections – between several aspects of diversity as they interact with your chosen topic. Finally, you will have the opportunity to consider how what you have learned through your research might influence the work of psychologists and others who work in the field. Overview of the ASSIGNMENT: Select a topic in psychology that interests you. (Topic ideas are listed below; however, you are not limited to these topics.) Consider how diversity might affect the understanding of your chosen topic. Choose three (3) lenses of diversity (examples below) from which to consider your topic. For example, if you choose a particular psychological disorder, how would age be a factor for the disorder? How would gender or socioeconomic status intersect with the development, diagnosis, or treatment of the disorder? Write a paper that considers your topic through three lenses of diversity. Paper Outline with Content Requirements: You will write a paper that considers your topic through three lenses of diversity. It will parallel the format of a conceptual academic article and should follow this organizational structure: Introduction: Your introduction should include some brief background on a) your chosen topic that sets the context for your paper, and b) the diversity lenses you intend to use to explore your topic. The introduction sets the foundation for the rest of the paper and helps the reader know what to expect. Additionally, your introduction must include a thesis statement. The rest of your paper will support the thesis statement. Review of the literature: The literature review allows you to see what has already been researched and written on your chosen topic through the three lenses of diversity you selected. In this section, please report the major findings from your research. While you may include direct quotations as appropriate, please write the paper in your own words, giving credit to others ideas by using correct citation format. (Direct quotations AND paraphrases must be cited.) The majority of your paper should be your ideas and in your own words. Your audience wants to read the connections you have made based on the sources you reviewed. Analysis and discussion: In this section, you will make connections between the literature you reviewed. Please consider the following: What does the literature say about your topic and the lenses of diversity you selected? How do the intersections/connections between these lenses of diversity help you better understand the topic? For example, assume your topic is depression, and two of the lenses you selected are race and sex. What intersections/ connections between these lenses are important in understanding depression? Is depression (diagnosis rates, course, and treatment) different for a black male than a white female? Implications: When reviewing literature for a research paper, it is important for the researcher to consider the implications of his or her findings. Imagine that your paper will inform the practice of psychologists, therapists, or other mental health professionals. Based on what you learned through your research, how do you believe your findings should influence the ethical principles that guide standards of behavior and conduct within the field of psychology? Please offer at least one specific example. Conclusion: This final written section should tie your paper together. State how your paper has fulfilled the intended purpose identified in your thesis statement. A conclusion paragraph will allow you to tie together the main concepts of your paper and once again connect the thesis to the supporting points. The paper will also include an APA-formatted Reference section for each of the APA-formatted in-text citations that were included. Incorporate a minimum of five (5) academically sound sources. Requirements: Format: Your paper should be in APA format, including section headings (from the Outline section above). See the following for help: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/apa_headings_and_seriation.html However, an Abstract is NOT needed. To adequately cover your topic, your paper will likely be a minimum of 1000 words which should be about four pages typed in Times New Roman 12-pt font, double-spaced with one inch margins. Any cover or references pages are not included in the word or page count. Citations: Make sure you include in-text citations and a Reference page that are APA-formatted. Your paper should include both in-text citations and a full reference list at the end of your paper. The paper, including citations and references, should be written according to APA format

Develop a Job Redesign using Job Characteristics Theory (Hackman Oldham (1976) Motivation through the design of work – Test of a theory (1) (1) (1).pdf) At this point in the semester, weve had many different opportunities to explore the models and concepts presented in each topic so far. For this week’s assignment, you will develop a Job Redesign. For the Job Redesign, you will recommend changes across the five job characteristics in the JCT model to increase employee motivation in the target job you have chosen. Therefore, you will be using theory to influence motivation through the design of work. Here is what should be included in your redesign: Use O*NET to choose the type of job you plan to redesign. Briefly describe the job (in general) using information from O*NET or other sources, including BLS. Describe the job in respect to each core job characteristics in the JCT model. Be sure to explicitly associate each job characteristic with the job characteristics from Hackman & Oldham. Describe your redesign efforts in each job characteristics area. Consider referring to the different tactics/strategies discussed in the Applications of Motivation Theory lecture. Explain how your redesign will motivate employees by: Contributing to critical psychological states (in JCT) Having an impact on work and personal outcomes (JCT) In other words, link each job dimension you discussed to the specific psychological states and outcomes that your redesign expects to impact. Questions 3-5 will likely require the most emphasis. Your responses should be clear yet succinct whilst reflecting the purpose of your chosen job redesign (minimum 500 words, but not to exceed 2 pages; 12-point; Times New Roman; double-spaced). Prevention Programs |Get Solution
I need 3 to 4 sentences with responses to these discussions.I will write the question and I will write the discussion posts of other students.question: What are some examples of effective prevention programs adopted as model programs by SAMHSA? Which ones do you think are the most effective? Why?discussion 1 Substance abuse and addiction have been plaguing human beings for centuries, and the last 100 years has brought countless programs intended for theprevention and treatment of various substance abuse. Some treatment programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, with its roots going back to the 1930s, can provide a solid foundation after substance abuse has already taken hold in an individuals life. Albeit the program assists in the prevention of future abuse, the help comes after-the-fact, as abuse has already negatively impacted an individuals life. Thankfully, there are numerous programs that emphasize on prevention before substance abuse has planted its deadly rootsAn organization founded in July of 1992 that has initiated and approved its own programs, and those originated outside, is the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Their mission is, to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on Americas communities. SAMHSAs work is guided by scientific research and evidence-based practices developed by this research (SAMHSA -At a Glance, n.d.). One of their large roles is being involved in public education and awareness, and they support many programs that aid in the early prevention of substance abuse. Some worthwhile programs they promote are Talk–They Hear You, STOP Underage Drinking, STOP Act Grants, Early Riser, Across Ages, and a plethora of other programs. Though all programs have their own worthwhile effectiveness, emphasis will be placed on two that were not discussed in a previous posting: TalkThey Hear You and STOP Act GrantsTalkThey Hear You aims to reduce underage drinking and substance use among youths under the age of 21 by providing parents and caregivers with information and resources they need to address alcohol and other drug use with their children early (Samantha, 2014). Some solid resources for parents provided include 5 goals in positive conversation, assistance in how to answer a childs tough questions, and numerous brochures that assist in conversations about alcohol, marijuana, vaping, opioids, etSAMHSA provides grants influenced by the Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking Act (STOP Act). As stated on their website, the programs goal is to prevent and reduce alcohol use among youth and young adults ages 12-20 in communities throughout the United States (Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking Act Grants, n.d.). There are many activities implemented that aim to address youth alcohol use and how the communities perceive them. Ideas are looked at that regard any changes in underage drinking enforcement efforts and address penalties for underage use. Applicants are encouraged to input their own ideas on improving strategic plansFor any issue that may arise, there is a program that could help, whether as a prevention tool, or as a treatment plan that lowers chanexistingces of further substance abuse. Knowledge is key in improving the health and mental awareness of our youth, thereby building a better futurediscussion 2SAMHSA provides several programs that are effective such as the Talk They Hear You campaign, Interagency Coordinating Community on the Prevention of Underage Drinking, STOP Underage Drinking, National Prevention Week, Communities Talk: Town Hall Meetings to Prevent Underage Drinking(2020, April 23). I think the ones that are most effective are the ones that tell the truth and are honest. I mean for me I never thought doing drugs was cool nor was drinking every day but that is because I grew up in a social drinker, non-user household. It was not until I transitioned to high school that my aunt told me I better not inject or snort anything because if I do she is going to use the sandal on me. I feel like the more people try to hide drug use or alcohol from their children the more forbidden it becomes and the more they want to partake in it. It is a hard discussion to have for sure but I think it needs to be done. Affective education is the use of emotions, attitudes, and cognitive domains (Ksir, Hart 2017). The authors of the book believe that young adults will partake in drugs to help them know their feelings or to express them which is why it is important to achieve altered states without drugs. This is why I feel that young adults do drugs because that emotion of oh it is forbidden it gives the user a sense of feeling or power. Other ways to achieve these altered states can be going on roller coasters, or camping, or partaking in extreme adrenaline sports.discussion question:Write down a definition of problem-solving as a cognitive process, and discuss one obstacle to problem-solving, such as the two mentioned in the handout and the book (functional fixedness and mental sets). Give an example of such an obstacle, describe why it is an obstacle and briefly mention its usual benefit as a problem-solving strategy. Then, mention one potential solution to acknowledge and to work around the obstacle when solving a problem.
