Sustainability in agriculture is a combination of producing adequate amounts of food for a growing population and reducing food waste. In this discussion, we will work as a class to understand more about sustainable agriculture, and the role of science and innovation in the pursuit of this goal. Here is what you need to do. Using the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest Census information (click on United States Census Bureau (Links to an external site.) and find the section under “The American Community Survey”), gather county-level data for the service population of your healthcare department. If you know that your department serves a multi-county area, include data from all of the areas that encompass the primary service area for your organization.
