Consider the following scenario: As firefighters opened the door, oxygen-starved flames come to life almost simultaneously, fluctuating across the ceiling as the thick black smoke ignites. The single-pane windows in the room broke from the pressure-volume of the gases and heat, and an explosion occurred. Several firefighters’ ears and necks began burning even with the Nomex hood donned properly, and they escaped from the residence. After regaining their composure, they realized one firefighter was missing and later found him in the charred debris. Many in the community began blaming leaders in the fire department, suggesting that they should train on fire behavior and firefighting and not emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials, confined space, trench rescue, and the other services provided. The word count can be divided between the two.  I will be posting them individually a day apart.  As we conclude this course we have come to realize that the relationship between any religion and society is very complicated.  But there does seem to be agreement that religion is not just an individual experience, that it has a social dimension.  What specific ideas in your religious tradition seem important for a just and vibrant society?  This can include beliefs, symbols, ethical mandates, or other insights that are crucial for the well-being of a society.  Elaborate.
