Define and discuss the three major Sociological frameworks of Functionalism, Conflict Theory, & Symbolic Interactionism. How does each framework seek to explain human behavior?

150 lines explaining each topic i have listed will be used on a discussion board post . Why do you think some people are more empathetic toward the poor than others? Can empathy be learned or can one’s ability to be empathetic change over the life course?   What is the concept of the self made man? How does this relate to the concept of the American dream? How Decisions Are Made in Communal Societies Read the article CLOSELY in this packet about how decisions were made in hunting and gathering societies. It is called decentralized–in other words, there is no central, main person or group who makes and enforces the rules. EVERYONE is responsible for enforcing the social “norms” or values of the society. What are the main valuses/morals of these hunting and gathering societies according to what this article says? Research Florida’s current statutes regarding parental liability, read the article linked below and answer the questions that follow. http://www.npr.org/2014/12/16/371264533/should-parents-be-legally-responsible-for-childrens-serious-crimes Should parents be responsible for the acts of their children?   Why or why not? (Please remember that while your opinion is important, it needs to be based on researched facts not anecdotes or conjecture.) Are Florida’s current laws strong enough? After reading Chapter 3 and 4, please respond critically to the  questions provided. Review the section on pages 55 to 56 titled, “Self-Esteem.” Review the section on pages 73 to 76 of your text that begins with the heading, “Self-Concept, Perception, and Technology.”  How much time do you spend on social media each day? What effect do you feel social networking has on a person’s self esteem? For example, “Does it make the user feel better or worse? It’s about being socially and individually responsible.” Recommend some ways to act responsibly on social media (outside source is required in the answer to this question).  The initial post must be 500 words for full credit, and each reply must be 150 words and include a question for the discussion post author. You must incorporate two textbook concepts in the initial post, using APA formatted in-text citations. You must cite at least one outside scholarly source–ebook, journal article, film, etc. and cite in APA format.

Macrosociology and microsociology are two different approaches that sociologists use to research and understand the social world.  Macrosociology is a ‘”big picture” approach, through which sociologists explore social issues at the structural and institutional levels.  Microsociology is focused more on the individual and small groups, examining social interactions and social construction of reality. For this assignment, (1) identify an editorial piece or opinion-editorial piece on a recent or ongoing news story, (2) evaluate the use of both macrosociological and microsociological perspectives by the author of the piece. Does their argument rely more on one than the other? Is there a healthy balance between the two? How might the argument be made more effective by integrating the two? Your paper should be between 500 and 700 words. It should include a properly formatted citation of the piece you are evaluating. (Any of the three styles are acceptable).

Sampling In qualitative and quantitative studies, sampling refers to selecting a particular sample of individuals from a larger population. This process is often called participant selection. Qualitative research collects rich data from fewer sources, while quantitative research attempts to collect a larger, more representative sample from the population as a whole. Selection criteria for eligibility in a study is similar for both quantitative and qualitative studies, however, there are some differences with respect to the procedures used and the size of the samples. Instructions: Consider a particular topic (this can be the topic from one of your previous discussions or assignments), and a particular qualitative or quantitative research design and state the factors you would consider in choosing participants for the study. Be sure to answer the following in your discussion: What sampling method would you use? How would you go about deciding how many participants to select given a particular methodology? What factors should be considered regarding sample size, representativeness, and apparent biases in the selection of the sample? Your post should be at least 300 words.
