Examine Ibsen’s “A Doll House,” focusing on the way in which the playwright dramatizes the interconnection between the internal and the external. To what extent are the main characters of the work able to establish a balance between internal and external selves, and why does that matter? How important is the concept of individuality in defining each character’s response to his/her situation?
