Topic: An in-depth managerial analysis of a selected organization (Delta Airlines Inc.) 1. Structural Analysis a. Provide a basic organizational chart and discuss structural characteristics b. Is this organization primarily horizontal or vertical? Is their structure best for their mission? How can they improve?  2. People Analysis a. Describe hiring practices and provide suggestions for improvement b. Describe processes for promotions and provide suggestions for improvement c. Does this company invest in leadership development? How can they improve leadership in the organization? d. How does the organization motivate employees? How can they improve motivation?  How will you do it?  1. Literature review (e.g. founders)  2. “Promotional” materials assessment (including web sites)  3. Industry analysis  4. Popular press research (e.g. WSJ, Fortune, etc.) The final written report should be formatted in APA 6th edition and submitted as a Microsoft Word document.
