In order to mature, adolescents must experience identity crises. Experts such as psychologists G. Stanley Hall, Erik Erikson, James Marcia, Jean Piaget, and Lawrence Kohlberg would agree that adolescents who experience identity crises would be inclined toward more stable adulthood.
