Background During Week 4, we discussed the elements of an effective paragraph and an effective essay. For this assignment, you’ll have to analyze your Rhetorical Analysis Essay from last week. Assignment Review your essay and in 4 paragraphs, discuss whether or not you effectively fulfilled the requirements of the assignment. Your essay should be broken down into the following sections: An introduction – Make sure your introduction includes a hook, a bridge, and a thesis. Your thesis should state your claim about your essay. Did you fulfill the assignment requirements? Did you create an effective and coherent essay? Reveal the main argument of your essay in your thesis. Body Paragraph 1 – This body paragraph should discuss the first reason why you believe you created an effective essay. If you don’t think your rhetorical analysis was effective, this paragraph should explain one of the reasons why you feel that way. Body Paragraph 2 – This paragraph should discuss the second reason behind for your thesis. Conclusion – In this paragraph, you want to bring all your ideas together. Sum up your key points, and leave the reader with a strong final impression. Use the following questions to evaluate your work: • Does your essay have a clear thesis? • Do you organize your thoughts in clear and well-written paragraphs? • Do you make sound and convincing points? • Do you support your points with some type of “evidence” (examples from the text, etc.)? • Does your paper have a clear and compelling conclusion? Submission Requirements The paper needs to be 4 paragraphs long, written in 12-pt. Times New Roman. Remember to double space your work!
