As you prepare for each workshop in this course, we ask that you begin with a post responding to a relevant passage from the Bible or reading and discover how it might apply to your life, to your character, and to this course. Read Psalm 72 and Psalm 82 and Stephanie Summers’ article “Evaluating Policy Proposals.”  Navigate to the threaded discussion and respond to the following: The Psalm passages admonish political leaders to pursue certain public policies over others.  What are the types of policies suggested as appropriate and right for the ruler to pursue?  As part of our assessment of what government ought to do today do you think the wisdom provided then applies to the rulers of today?  Why or why not?  What factors might guide our evaluation of whether government is pursuing appropriate policies? Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the workshop. Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings, as well as all follow-up instructor questions directed to you, by the end of the workshop. Your postings should also: Be well developed by providing clear answers with evidence of critical thinking. Your observations should add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas. Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and provide insight into the discussion.
