Using specific examples, describe how the setting of “The Lottery” is represented in the movies. Why is it held at all and why is it set in mid-summer? Using concepts related to the setting that were discussed in class (time, place, circumstance), explore how you think the setting impacts the themes of the overall narrative.  3. Think about how you would adapt this story for film. What discursive choices or changes would you make in your own adaptation of the story? Why?
