The experience acted as an eye-opener in a depiction that there is a wide knowledge gap in the provision of quality care for the patient. It is imperative noticing the essential need for improving the quality of care of the patient, and this is made possible by the development of the new knowledge base. Through a combination of the current research, experience and patient preference better services are provided. The evidence-based project is an indication that learning in nursing is a continuous process and that there will be continually learning throughout the practice of giving care (Mackey & Bassendowski, 2017). I have gained a better understanding of the evidence-based practice, and now I can easily identify the different levels of evidence and easily conduct systematic research. Since, I take time to comprehend concept I was able to formulate my understanding of the concepts rather than memorizing content. Moreover, I was able to critically think about these concepts particularly those involving policies and ethics. Despite the format of the program allowing some flexibility, it took some time before getting used to it. The practice was engaging through participating in online forums where posting of the discussion enabled learning from the cohorts as well as the faculty. Regardless of this, the weekly posting seemed so quick to me, and I did not find them allowing for adequate time to read and synthesize the information learned and formulation of thoughts. Thus, I have to develop better time management skills to keep up with the weekly tasks and improve my ability to handle tasks within stipulated timelines. According to me, the program provided the needed knowledge that support nursing focused outcome and accountability in practice. It looks at current as well as the future nursing needs.
