Please review the exercise on p. 331 of Battaglio’s chapter, and discuss all the questions in the exercise. Write up job descriptions for the two positions. What types of knowledge, skills, and abilities would you include? What tasks and duties would each of the positions be responsible for carrying out? Where might you advertise the job? As a contingency plan, the secretary has also asked you to consider outsourcing the agency’s IT requirements. What criteria might you include in a request for proposals to administer the IT function? What legal issues might you consider when outsourcing IT-related functions? This assignment is an opportunity to synthesize material from several chapters in order to address the questions of Battaglio. Job descriptions are not something that can be answered in a few words and neither is the consideration of where to advertise for different levels of employees. Consider all of these ideas before you submit your responses.
