Legal Issues in Healthcare

This project requires that you do research, write a short paper and present your findings. You will be researching a topic, of your choice from below, and (1) writing a short paper and (2) giving a short presentation on the topic that you have chosen (via a recorded link, YouTube, or uploading a video to a Google Drive). Paper: Pick a topic from the ones listed below, research for a relevant court case, and write a 3-5-page paper (NOT including title or reference page, double spaced, following APA format) discussing the importance of legal issues, focusing on your ‘topic’ of choice. Spelling and grammar will be taken into account in terms of your grade. Please make sure to check this before turning in your paper. The paper portion of this project is worth 25 points. Make sure to include the following: Title page and reference page Use at least 3 sources (maybe websites, books, professional magazine articles) Why being aware of legal issues is important in the health care industry The description of the case that you have chosen to research Details involved in the case including the law or right that was violated or breached, the discussion of the court case, the outcome of the case Your thoughts on this case/situation and how you think it should have been handled Presentation: Give a 5-10 minute presentation on the topic that you have researched. You may use a PowerPoint presentation, graphics, short videos (3 minutes or less), etc. The presentation portion of this project is worth 25 points. Make sure to: Speak clearly and use terms that are understandable Speak within the time limit (minimum 5 minutes, maximum 10 minutes) Use appropriate graphics, figures, etc. Keep the presentation flowing well without many pauses
