Badger Care Plus and Medicaid members in the state of Wisconsin have a program called MTM available to them for Nonemergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Services (MTM, 2020). MinnesotaCare and Medicaid members in the state of Minnesota have a similar program. Written guidelines for the Minnesota transportation system have some barriers. Members need to request a ride 3-5 days prior to the date of service. Second, if a member lives within close proximity to other forms of public transportation, they must use that first. The greatest hardship for member is only being able to bring “one responsible person” if necessary (MN Department of Human Services, 2020). A responsible person is defined as an adult or emancipated minor for the purpose of making medical decisions. What if you are a single parent with no childcare? What happens if other members of your family make your medical decisions? Our business, “We Care for Your Care” can help! This transportation company is granting access to the whole family for routine healthcare appointments leaving no one behind. Our drivers are available 10 hours a day to transport you and your family to and from nonemergent medical appointments. We value your family and the service we provide. Our Mission: To increase appointment compliance, which allows consistent and comprehensive medical care, by eliminating the burden of transportation and childcare for your children. Vision: To minimize missed wellness exams for adults and children, with the ultimate goal of preventing medical complications. We Care for Your Care provides service for infants to adults 50 years old. Our company will drive your family safely to and from your appointments in the comfort of our 15 passenger vans. We can also provide extra safety for your children with up to date car seats, age 3 appropriate for infants and toddlers. This service is free to those members who are actively enrolled in MinnesotaCare or Medicaid. References MN Department of Human Services (2020, August 11). This assignment will be done within a group of 3-5 people who are currently in the course. We encourage you to schedule regular group meetings by Zoom throughout the semester to develop this assignment. 2. Each group should develop an idea for a new service needed in your organization or you may develop an idea for a completely new service outside of an organization. Be creative. Describe a plan which meets a community or organizational need. It is hypothetical, and so dreaming big is encouraged here. You will be evaluated on the application of the steps of the process, so it is OK (encouraged even ?) to describe a business that may have never been done before. 3. You may NOT create a business plan that just adds FTE’s to a unit or department (i.e. adding additional nursing assistants, nurses, or other support personnel). Rarely are these business plans approved and are not considered creative. 4. Below are the requirements for what is to be included in your business plan. Some of the items (i.e., market analysis, budget estimates, and financial analysis) would not be possible to complete due to this being a hypothetical situation, but you are expected to describe what you would do for each of these areas. For example, for the market analysis, explain what would you do, who 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. would you contact, and what resources would you use? For the budget estimates, what are the appropriate budget items to include and why? What financial analysis would you complete? The Business Plan should include: a. Executive Summary- Mindy b.
