Psychological Treatments, Social Thinking and Social Influence

Week’s topic: Psychological Treatments, Social Thinking and Social Influences Current Event Analysis 3:  In assignment, you will  analyze one current event through key psychological concepts from Chapters 15-16.  To complete this assignment, you will: (a) find a topic related to the topic of the chapter’s week and important issues in our world today, (b) research the topic and write a 500 word analysis surrounding how the article has psychological influences, and (c) include a link to the article or attach a copy.  Since this is a current events assignment you are to choose an article that is no more than 6 months old from the date the assignment is due.  You may only use articles from credible newspapers, magazines, or broadcast news media sources.  (i.e., some example concepts may include: nature vs. nurture, conditioning and learning, perception, psycho-social influence, psychological applications, etc.) Provide an analysis of your interpretations/findings. The following questions are a few examples of what to address: What psychological words or phrases appear repeatedly in the current event article? Describe these concepts.   What problem(s) or issue(s) is being discussed or analyzed? How does it relate to the one of the psychological concepts from chapters 15-16 What does the current research say about the topic?  What does the historical research say about the topic?   The 500+ word analysis must include APA formatting: title page, 500+ word analysis, reference page.  See the “Announcements” section for APA expectations and academic research expectations.
