Readmission to Nursing School

Please use this an EXAMPLE of how to frame your statement of appeal incorporating the required explanations: (i) verifiable documentation of circumstances that contributed to the withdrawal/dismissal, (ii) an explanation of how these circumstances have been resolved and (iii) provision of a reasonable plan for meeting the academic requirements for good standing. The statement and your supporting documents are the only documents you have to state your case for returning to your program of study.  EXAMPLE: Re: Readmission into Name of Program  Dear Academic Standards Committee:  My name is  and I was a student in the  program at Jersey College from  to  . I was withdrawn from the program due to my academic grades in  .  Throughout my time in the program, I faced a number of challenges in meeting my own goals for success as a student. One major issue that impacted my ability to be successful at Jersey College was  . A second issue that challenged my ability to study was  . [In this paragraph, explain how you got into this situation. Be detailed, but also concise. Please note that this is a place to indicate if you have evidence that can be attached for support]  Since I left the college, my life has improved significantly to allow me to position myself to again become a successful student at Jersey College. The changes in my life include  . [In this paragraph explain what has changed in your life. Where possible provide specific examples and evidence of the changes. Be concise, but thorough. This is your opportunity to present why you should be given another chance.]  My plan for meeting the academic requirements of the program includes   ____  . [In this paragraph explain how you will meet the academic requirements – i.e., I have reduced my workload and can now devote an additional x hours to studying each night; I plan on joining study groups; I was successful in the following subjects as a result of interest, etc. Be concrete about the plan].  I sincerely hope that this request for readmission shows that I am dedicated to being a successful student at Jersey College.
