We have to respond to two people on why we agree or disagree and add valuable information to our discussion response to each peer. Each Peer has to have two sources that are peer reviewed journal articles COLLAPSE PEER 1 :Centenarians are individuals who have lived over one-hundred years. This group type has increased thought the last decade. It is expected to have more than twice the number we have today by the year 2050. This individuals have lived over 100 years and we should learn the lifestyle the practice, the physical activity they have practiced through the years. This would help the community to have a better life expectancy. They usually consume this with small meals at the end of the day, usually plant based, and they consume one to two glasses of wine every day. The centenarians they participate in physical activities such as, walking, biking, swimming. They also participate in mental health activities, such as reading, painting and playing musical instruments. This helps them to have a higher competence at an older age. Gender plays a role in the centenarians. Most of the centenarians are females, although most females reach this age, the male who live to be 100 years of age are healthier than females. They also show a lower rate of dementia. Estrogen plays a role in longevity. The chromosomes give woman an edge, as well as being able to child bare. PEER 2: COLLAPSE Centenarians are people in society who reach the age of 100 or more. ” This year, the United Nations expect the number of centenarians to rise to approximately 573,000 worldwide. “(Buchholz, 2020) Diet, and exercise have a lot to do with this because these things can help keep you healthy. The diet is different depending on the culture and where you live. These matter more than your genes because are you grow older those genes won’t be as strong so making sure to keep yourself healthy while you grow up is very important. Individual characteristics impact you too, there are races that are more likely to live longer because certain races take care of themselves better because it is a part of their culture and society. ” Living to 83 on average, the Japanese have long had one of the highest life expectancies. Okinawa, often called ‘the land of immortals’, has been a global centre for longevity research, as these southern Japanese islands have more than 400 centenarians. Much credit for this has been given to the local diet, which includes plentiful tofu and sweet potato, and a small amount of fish.
