By creating a positive QWL, the management can guarantee the welfare of staff, promote job performance, resulting in better healthcare delivery and patient safety. Since there are a limited number of healthcare professionals, staff turnover is expensive (Kirk, 2017). By improving QWL, the management ca retain staff and ensure sustainable development of the organization. The management can create programs for workplace distress that result in staff turnover. By reducing instances of negative career satisfaction, medical error, and job dissatisfaction, employee turnover can be reduced (Kirk, 2017). As the management gains knowledge about challenges of retention, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration provides information that the management can use (Kirk, 2017).
