Statistical Inference

LIN 150, you are asked to craft and submit a research proposal on an issue related to the broad topic of language, race, and ethnicity.  The proposal will consist of the following parts: A) Introduction:  This section will give us an overview of your specific research problem/ question and how it relates to the broad topic.  In this section, you will also establish exigency for your research question.  This means you will show us why this research question is important, why we should care, and what gap in the existing scholarship will this research fill. B) Literature review: In this section you will provide a synthesis of the existing scholarship in the field as related to your topic.  This section will provide further support as to the importance of your research question and what gap your research will fill.   C) Methods: In this section you will outline exactly what you intend to do to collect data for your study.  Will you be interviewing?  Observing? Collecting survey data?  Doing a statistical analysis?  What data will you be collecting and how will you do it?  Also, how will you analyze the data once you collect it? D) In this final section, you will discuss what results you expect to get from your study as well as the implication of those results on the field. In all, your proposal should be around 5-6 pages in length, double-spaced, size 12 font in an appropriate style.  The work cited page will not be counted in therms of length requirements.  You will also need to use in-text citations appropriately using a consistent format (I prefer APA).   2-3 scholarly articles are needed for this assignment
