Symbolic Interactionism of Gender
Some researchers believe that gender is more of a social construction, than a biological reality (as opposed to sex). Using the frame of symbolic interactionism, how would you describe social interaction as a way of framing gender? For instance, when a baby girl is born, she is usually gifted pink frilly items. What does this say about how our social interactions perpetuate the social construction of gender?
