The story about how we came about is actually enlightening. It captures the reality that exists in the field of nursing and the challenges that nurses who want to increase their education face. It was in the summer of 1008 when I wanted to enroll for an associate degree in nursing. When I enrolled for the course, I thought that it was going to be easy. What with the fact that I already had practice experience. The concepts were going to be easy, right? Right.
However, that was not the issue. Whereas I noticed that attending online classes was generally easy, the challenge was brought about when it came to doing assignments. Back then, just like now, nursing shortage was a biting issue. So, most of had to work many hours and still end up working on the school works. Whereas such a challenges was to be relished, since nursing is all about overcoming challenges, the reality was totally different. You will agree with me that after working an average of 15 hours a day, it becomes practically impossible for you to focus on other things. Consequently, my grades suffered at school and I had to seek for solutions.
The above compelled me to confide in one of my colleagues who was undertaking a similar course. Unsurprisingly, they were suffering from the same problems. With this in mind, we told ourselves: ”What if we come up with an online platform that will ease the burden on nurses such as ourselves? ”
Asking that questions began the birthing process of this website. Initially, we struggled to come up with names that conventionally fit what we would be doing. After much deliberations, we settled on nursing paper slayers. Why slayers you may ask. Well, the challenges that nursing students undertaking online courses face can only be equated with a dragon. Finishing those assignments after such a long day is a struggle. A struggle that the mythical movie characters who attempt to slat dragons can identify with. With such inspiration, we settled on Nursing Paper Slayers as the name of our site with the hope of helping nursing students at all levels slay the nursing assignments even when they come thick and fast.
