Assignment: Instructor Feedback

Assignment: Instructor Feedback
Assignment: Instructor Feedback
Prepare this assignment as a 1,500-1,600 word paper using the instructor feedback from the previous course assignments and the guidelines below.
PICOT Question
Revise the PICOT question you wrote in the Topic 1 assignment using the feedback you received from your instructor.
The final PICOT question will provide a framework for your capstone project (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study).
Research Critiques
In the Topic 2 and Topic 3 assignments, you completed a qualitative and quantitative research critique on two articles for each type of study (4 articles total). Use the feedback you received from your instructor on these assignments to finalize the critical analysis of each study by making appropriate revisions.
The completed analysis should connect to your identified practice problem of interest that is the basis for your PICOT question.
Refer to “Research Critiques and PICOT Guidelines – Final Draft.” Questions under each heading should be addressed as a narrative in the structure of a formal paper.
Proposed Evidence-Based Practice Change
Discuss the link between the PICOT question, the research articles, and the nursing practice problem you identified. Include relevant details and supporting explanation and use that information to propose evidence-based practice changes.

Standards and criteria created by nursing leaders in professional groups, as well as governmental entities such as the Public Health Service’s Bureau of Health Professions, guide nursing practice to some extent.
Nurses are guided in their real nursing performance by systematic frameworks for the practice of nursing.
The nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation is currently the most widely accepted framework for nursing practice in use.
The California Public Health Foundation (CPHF, 1992) devised a three-role model to guide medical and nursing practice related to environmental health concerns. These roles include investigator, educator, and advocate.
Knowing how environmental health ideas and related activities integrate into current nursing practice requires knowledge of formal descriptions, definitions, and systems.
To demonstrate the “fit” between nursing practice and environmental health challenges, the following part provides a brief overview of the terminology and systems that guide nursing practice, as well as their applicability to environmental health concerns.
Environmental health problems have been included into nursing’s scope of practice and the profession’s concept of health and health care, demonstrating nursing’s long-standing and ongoing concern about environmental influences on human health.
Nursing Practice is defined as
The American Nurses Association (ANA) is in charge of setting nursing’s goals, objectives, and standards of practice.
The American Nurses Association defines nursing as “a caring-based practice in which diagnostic and therapeutic methods are applied to human health and illness situations” (ANA, 1994).
The American Nurses Association (ANA) defines three essential nursing tasks that expressly address environmental and health issues, a preventive approach to health, and concern for both communities and individuals:
1. Restorative activities help to reduce the negative effects of illness and disease.
2. Supportive activities aim to improve relationships or the environment in order to promote better health.
3. Promotive practices help individuals, families, and communities achieve their self-defined goals by mobilizing healthy lifestyle patterns, fostering personal and familial development, and supporting self-defined goals.
Thus, the ANA’s scope of practice and definition of nursing include major concepts and activities needed to address environmental variables that can affect the health of individuals and populations.
