(When you complete your NURS 649 Practicum Stretch Project you will use these same steps but you will be doing it in the practice setting and you will be the one that finds the problem by meeting with the organizational leader that you decide to work with, identifying the problem and carrying out the rest of the ARM steps). Directions for Setting Up Organizational Assessment Paper Follows: Set the document up in APA format, using a cover page, page numbers, and a reference page. Make sure to include your name, the course number, the title of your assessment, and the professor’s name. The template that you need to use to set up your organizational assessment paper follows: I. II. III. IV. V. Problem –Describe the location of the organization and the current state of staff morale. In this section describe the problem, support the need to address the problem with literature citations. Describe the current issues that are impacting staff morale. Include information on how the financial resources are impacting the problem. Describe the current organizational culture. Description of Assessment Team Members – Describe the leader of your assessment team and the assessment team members and their current title (you can find this information in your case study and next semester when you are completing your NURS 649 Practicum Stretch Project you will describe the organizational leader you are working with and any team members). Describe how many are on your team and the department they work in (you can find this information in your case study). Review of Data Collected and Findings – This section needs to include your literature review and any other data collection sources that you use. You need to review and include at least 20 references to sources you used to collect data and best practice approaches to the problem you are addressing. Identification of Joint Diagnosis of the Problem – This section is where you confirm your diagnosis of the problem after reviewing the literature and the data that you have collected. (When you are completing your NURS 649 Practicum Stretch Project you will meet with your leader or team and make this diagnosis together as you will all have reviewed the literature and data to make a collaborative joint decision on the final diagnosis). Describe the problem diagnosis after considering the findings from the literature review and other data collection. VI. VII. Description of Joint Action Planning and Next Steps – This is a business plan that includes information that addresses – 5 specific recommendations on an intervention that will address the low nursing staff morale, high turnover rates, and low staff satisfaction scores. Include in your recommendations an effective staffing model and a staffing policy, 3 specific nursing recruitment initiatives that will occur over the next 6 months, and the budget for nursing staff salaries. Include 3 recommendations on how to implement a culture shift between nursing leadership and staff nurses’ interactions. (Make sure to support recommendations, the staffing model you recommend, the staffing policy you create and recommend, the recruitment initiatives that you recommend, and the budget you propose with references to the literature). Include a cost-benefit analysis, budget that covers the cost of the actions steps being implemented and the nursing staff salaries, and 3 specific marketing points that you will present to the organizational leaders that show a positive impact on organizational cost benefits.
