The journal contains Tom’s dietary record and physical activity record for three consecutive days. The Excel file contains two sections – dietary record (tab 1), physical activity record (tab 2). • Your job is to analyse the data presented in the Excel spreadsheet and reflect on Tom’s eating and exercise habits by answering the questions below. • Your analysis and the reflection should be completed on a Microsoft Word Document and submitted via the Turnitin Assignment 1 submission box found on Moodle. • You are not required to submit the Excel file. The Excel file contains the raw data you need to calculate and analyse to answer the questions below. • The reflection should be between 1000-1200 words and should not go beyond 1200 words. You must use the relevant knowledge from the lessons and learning resources to support your reflection. This means you will need to include in text citations and a reference list of all the sources you used. Some questions may not require any references while others require one or two. Remember the values should be your daily average over the 3-day period. You will be asked to describe your energy intake and expenditure in both kcal and kJ. Remember that 1 kcal = 4.184 kJ. OPTIONAL While not compulsory, we also recommend that you keep track of your own diet and physical activities over a 3-day period. This will help you answer question number 6 of the assignment more easily. There are various phone apps and websites that track and record your diet. Additional features on these apps include personalised exercise trackers (for example, apps that record how long you walked in a day, and your average speed).
