The credit union made this bold move to be all-encompassing of the members they serve outside of the San Antonio market. Credit Human’s unique name speaks to the organization’s mission of investing in people. I selected Credit Human because I work for the credit union and our mission is to find ways to help people create financial slack. The product I selected for conducting this survey is the slack-builder checking account. The checking account is being designed to solve the problem of members spending above their means by not allowing the account to access paper checks or overdraft courtesy. The purpose of the account is to help members learn how to budget their money so they can start paying themselves instead of merchants or financial institutions fees. From the survey, Credit Human would like to learn which features matter most to a consumer. The survey will present different categories with two choices per category. ORDER NOW FOR CUSTOMIZED AND ORIGINAL ESSAY PAPERS The survey will ask if the consumer would rather access their accounts by paper check or debit card; if the consumer would pay a nominal monthly fee if the money were returned to them and placed in their savings account to help build slack; and if the consumer would rather pay an overdraft fee or have the transaction declined. According to Sharpe, De Veaux, & Velleman (2019) creating a sample survey will allow a business to ask a small population of different people specific questions. My sample survey would be presented to people who frequent the Pearl Brewery. The Pearl Brewery is an ideal place for the survey because it is a gentrified brewery located on the river that attracts people from every walk of life. This location will provide a good sample because it attracts people whose payment preference range between cash, debit, and credit. San Antonio has a population of over 1.5 million people that does not include the surrounding areas. The population sample I have determined to be adequate is 1,500. Although the number represents a small fraction of San Antonio’s population, it will provide enough data for the credit union to determine if the product will be successful or if it will require the credit union to rethink the offering. Due to the number of options people have for financial institutions in the area, it would be counterproductive to sample a size larger than this one. The sampling would take place over a course of several months to capture a variety of people that only show up if there is a farmer’s market or other special event occurring, in addition to people who live in close proximity to the Pearl.
