The Constitution & the Coronavirus Pandemic Overview The American Constitution was written by men who wanted to design a government that would be be able to provide effective governance without infringing on individual rights. The Constitution they created focused on three design principles: Separating the powers of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches Federalism, which allows state governments to have relative autonomy from the federal government Protection of individual freedom, also known as civil liberties The Question “Has the Constitution helped or hindered the government’s’ response to the Coronavirus pandemic? Why?” Evaluation Your paper will be graded on the following criteria: Clarity of thesis Clear understanding of separation of powers, federalism, and civil liberties with support from the textbook Linkages to the real world through citing credible news stories or scholarly articles Adherence to MLA Format & Citations Academic Dishonesty & Plagiarism The work you submit should demonstrate your original research and arguments.
