Solutions have been put forth to deal with the different problems that arise in the healthcare department. Multiple stakeholders are, therefore, involved in plans to improve healthcare. This study seeks to analyze how technology affects operations in the healthcare and adjustments that can be made to incorporate technology in the healthcare field. Technology is a national healthcare issue affecting different organizations. My organization does not apply technology in its daily operations. All tasks are, thus, done manually. The use of paper files in storing patient’s information makes work bulky. Accessing of patients files through this paper filing method is slow and tedious, thus, affecting medical making decisions. My organization is, therefore, negatively impacted by the lack of technology application. By applying technology in our healthcare facility, this issue would be minimized. The digitalization of patients’ records would result in patients and healthcare professionals remotely accessing files. Efficiency and delivery of healthcare to remote areas would be made possible through digitalization. Sharing patients’ information by different departments in healthcare would be simplified by the use of technology (Hoover, 2016). These electronic records provide information about patients’ intolerances and allergies to healthcare providers. The electronic documents can also be used to increase responsibility by reducing negligence. Chances of mistakes are thus, reduced. Therefore, if my organization adopted the use of technology, procedures would be simplified, improving patients’ results, and reducing costs. Technology has been employed by Advance Practice Nurses (APNs) in other organizations.
