Homozygous Dominant
In a population of 2,000 oysters, 1,920 are solid-colored, and 80 are banded. It is known that the solid color occurs in homozygous dominant (AA) and heterozygotes (Aa); bands only occur in homozygous recessive individuals (aa). Calculate gene frequencies and numbers of AA, Ab, and aa oysters, assuming Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. MUST SHOW WORK!! [SOLVED] Biosystematics
Problem 4 (40 pts). Write at least ½ page for each answer Describe changes in the global environment in the past that affected the evolution of life (10 pts) What traits are common for most domesticated species? (10 pts) Why are small populations more likely to go extinct? (10 pts) Compare and the effects of selection, random genetic drift, and gene flow on genetic diversity within and among populations. You can use PopG for illustration (10 pts) For more information on Biosystematics read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosystematics
[SOLVED] Nutrient Runoff
I need a minimum of 200 words and a very detailed paper. In your own words, summarize how a dead zone forms along populated coasts. What are the major sources of the excess nutrients? Consider your community. What are some of the major sources of nutrient runoff that you see on a regular basis? Do you contribute to this problem? Discuss at least two ways in which you, personally, can reduce your impact on ocean life. (200 words) For more information on Nutrient Runoff read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutrient_pollution

[SOLVED] Microbiology
Typed post roughly 150 – 200 words OR video review roughly 2 minutes with images and description OR creative infographic that addresses the objective, etc. If you have any ideas other than these, feel free to reach out to your course professor to ensure it will work for this discussion. For your initial post: Review global news and find an article that discusses a relationship between a microorganism/virus and the health of another animal (which may include humans! – this may include positive or negative impacts) Review posts already made by your peers. Repeat topics will not count, so make sure that you do not choose a topic your peers have discussed already. ** You may post the first 2 steps (One sentence description of the issue and APA citation) to claim so that someone else does not post a similar topic while you are preparing your post. You can then go to your original post, edit it, and add the remaining parts of your post. Your final discussion post should be numbered or bulleted and include each of these sections in order: One sentence description of the relationship between the microorganisms/virus and the animal. APA citation of the article your read Description of the organism or virus discussed in the article Summary of the relationship, the organisms that are affected, and the impact of the microorganism/virus If possible, provide steps taken to mitigate or improve the relationship For more information on Microbiology read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microbiology
[SOLVED] Stem Rust
What is the CIMMYT long-term strategy to control stem rust? What genes are involved? What is the basis of durability? Think of a question that you want to ask us about this. For more information on Stem Rust read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stem_rust
[SOLVED] Kingdom Plantae
Plant Chemical Adaptations Physical adaptations are one-way plants have become well-adapted to specific environmental conditions. For example, cacti have spines in place of leaves to prevent water loss in the arid conditions of the desert, and deciduous trees lose their leaves in the fall to survive cold weather conditions over the winter. Chemical adaptations are another means of plant protection. Many plants produce toxic or noxious compounds to protect themselves from insects or animals that would eat them, to reduce competition from other plants, or even to change the response of pollinators. Humans analyze and harvest these compounds for our own benefit. Read this article on the search for useful plant compounds: Mother Natures Medicine Cabinet Read this article on the less-than-beneficial uses of plant products: Addictive Drugs That Are Actually Pesticides Choose ONE of the following compounds: Caffeine Cocaine Nicotine Artemisinin Answer these four questions: Describe the compound and in what plant(s) it is found. Explain how this compound provides protection for the plant. Does the compound provide any other benefits for the plant, such as enhanced pollination? What effect does the compound have on humans? Follow these guidelines for your paper: Utilize at least 1 credible source to support the arguments presented in the paper. Make sure you cite appropriately within your paper and list the reference(s) in APA format on your Reference page. Your paper should be 12 pages in length, not counting the Title page and Reference page. For more information on Kingdom Plantae read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant
