Diversity Project

Imagine that Lynette follows up with you in an e-mail shortly after reading your views on leadership and collaboration.E-mail From LynetteHi,Thanks for sending me your thoughts on the diversity issue at the Lakeland Clinic. The next step is for you to select a team of professionals who can help you in this project and prepare an introduction of the project for a first meeting with them.I want you to prepare a presentation to serve as a brief, but substantive introduction for the first meeting with a group of four members who will participate on the committee tasked with addressing the diversity issue. The presentation should be approximately 5 minutes (use as many slides as required with detailed speaker’s notes) so I can understand your approach. Not a lot of time or space, so keep things pretty high level. Do the following:Briefly outline the project goals and highlight 2–3 of the initial priorities to be addressed by the group. Explain the composition of your ideal team and why you chose them. (Note that you will not know the exact personnel yet, but assume we will recruit the people with the desired qualities and characteristics that you outline in the presentation.) Provide brief description of the type of professionals you believe can help define the problem and ultimately make recommendations on how to address it. You will want the group to be diverse and with each member being able to provide a unique perspective.Explain your role and describe how the committee will work together and achieve effective interprofessional collaboration. Describe how the group will communicate. Include how and when they will meet.Describe how ideas will be shared and decisions made.Describe roles, group function, and structure. Thanks,Lynette

General Interaction

I need a discussionNow that the option of any in-person aspect of learning has been suspended due to the coronavirus, in general, what do you think are some of the “pros” and “cons” of online classes? How do you feel about having classes totally online, rather than meeting weekly for lecture, discussion and general interaction? Is it good thing, a bad thing, or mainly a compromiseRegarding K-12 education, what effect do you think standardized tests like the FSA, FCAT etc., have on the quality of education? How does emphasis on test preparation detract from the overall educational experience? Do you have any examples from your own experiences in this regard? What effect does emphasis on things like standardization and “accountability” students and their instructors?

The appointment in Samarra

I have to write 2 peer responses this is the article that we had to review and ill post their reviews at the bottom. The Appointment in Samarra”(as retold by W. Somerset Maugham [1933])The speaker is DeathThere was a merchant in Bagdad who sent his servant to market to buy provisions and in a little while the servant came back, white and trembling, and said, Master, just now when I was in the marketplace I was jostled by a woman in the crowd and when I turned I saw it was Death that jostled me. She looked at me and made a threatening gesture, now, lend me your horse, and I will ride away from this city and avoid my fate. I will go to Samarra and there Death will not find me. The merchant lent him his horse, and the servant mounted it, and he dug his spurs in its flanks and as fast as the horse could gallop he went. Then the merchant went down to the marketplace and he saw me standing in the crowd and he came to me and said, Why did you make a threating getsture to my servant when you saw him this morning? That was not a threatening gesture, I said, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Bagdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra. Two required peer responses1.Death not being omniscient is what sets the fable into action. If she had known that the servant would have been at the market then she would not have been startled, therefore the servant would not have left Bagdad to flee from death.Death is sometimes portrayed as a shadow or menacing figure. However, here we see death personified as a woman, I think this characterization of death could be in part of where the story takes place. A lady in a marketplace is not as scary as a figure of darkness. Furthermore, in society women are seen as nurturers, life givers, I think death being a female could be a twist on that, women can give life but they can also take itI think the moral of this story is that sometimes we run from something only to end up in a situation far worse. I also think it could mean that most things is set in stone, you cannot change destiny. The servant thought that he was running away from death only to run into it. I think it’s somewhat useful, I don’t blame the servant for running, I think we should carefully pick our battles, and I think one against death is a losing one. However, sometimes we give up too easily, the servant did not even try to put up a fight he just ran.2.In this story, if Death was all knowing she would’ve been prepared to see the servant in the market. Her not knowing he would be there was just as startling to her as it was to him. It would’ve taken away the element of surprise to the story.Death being portrayed as a women rather than a man creates an entire new aspect to the story. Death is often seen as a man in an aggressive state or a dark, black figure. Women are normally portrayed to be fragile and seductive. Therefore death being in the state of a women creates a new essence to the character. The lesson in this text is to not try and outrun or change your fate. You need to accept things as they are or as they come and allow the universe to align itself around you.

Career Interests

Global:Based on your personal interests and your reading of chapter 1 and the UNWTO document, please choose a country on which you will focus this term and indicate your choice in the title of your discussion post (for example, Sue Chooses India). Country choice is on a first come, first served basis, and only one student may focus on any specific country during the course of the term, so please make your posting as soon as possible in order to ensure your first choice. For example, a good country to choose would be one with high hotel development and tourism growth (like China or India); a good choice would also be one from which many of your employees may come from depending on your career interests; or one that is often in the news and has readily identifiable plans for increasing tourism (like Cuba, South Korea or Mexico); or one that you would like to live and work in one day, depending on your career interests. There are only two rules, as stated previously, only one person can choose a country, so post early; the other rule is that you cannot choose the country that you are from or theUSA.Please discuss:1. Your reasons for your choice, both personal and based on your reading/research.2. What are the major demand determinants for travel to this country (tourism sites, business/economic centers, etc)?3. What is the outlook for tourism growth to this country? What are the drivers behind this prediction? Be sure to cite your research.Your initial post will be 500 words in length (one page, single spaced) and reference a minimum of 3 cited sources. In addition to in-text citations, please include your works cited at the end of your post

Personal Story

I placed an order for an essay with a personal story but I need a rewrite because I got a bad grade on it. These are the notes from the professorPerhaps the story should be about an experience. Some of the examples provided mention a dog passing or a main event but it has to be a story. I give freedom about the story it doesnt have to be about meHi Karen, Work on the core of your story. Right now, you don’t have one. You start a story with the first paragraph and then switch to El Salvador. Then you mention your friend Emerald. Then you go back to El Salvador and then back to your friendship with Emerald. You need a real story with a beginning, middle, and end. Perhaps you can write about a specific incident in El Salvador in which you experienced the gunshots and violence. Or maybe a specific story about your friendship with Emerald. So think about which way you want to develop a story. Paint pictures with your words. Describe scenes and characters and use the techniques you’ve studied in “Telling True Stories.”You have multiple writing errors, and you need to work on both the structure of your sentences, organization, flow, and mechanics, such as grammar and punctuation. With hard revision and editing, you can do it. If you need special assistance, use the CSULB Writing Center tooSome examples of errors –is always a routine, school, work, and the cycle keeps repeating; I work in the evenings to cater to my upkeep and tuition fee. I am not complaining, but it is tiresome. Sometimes school work is too much, and the café gets so busy. “Wait, it is already morning?” I murmur to myself while yawning. I drag my body lazily to the bathroom and takes a warm shower. I hurriedly get prepared because I do not want to get late for class and probably…=is always a routine — school, work –, and the cycle keeps repeating. I work in the evenings to afford my tuition. I am not complaining, but it is tiresome. Sometimes school work is too much, and the café gets so busy. “Wait, it is already morning?” I murmur to myself while yawning. I drag my body lazily to the bathroom and takes (take) a warm shower. I hurriedly get prepared because I do not want to get (be late, not get late) late for class and probably…How old when you came to California? We need that in your story.opportunities were plenty (not in plenty)where I saved for college tuition (no fee)is my friend Emerald who we share classes,” Heygirl, are you not going to school?” She shouts at the other end,” I am on my way, I reply.” Today we are carpooling because my car had a puncture like a week ago and it is still in the garage. I did not bother togo for it because I have been busy with school and work.=is my friend Emerald who goes to CSULB too. “Hey girl, are you not going to school?” she shouts at the other end. “I am on my way,” I reply. Today we are carpooling because my car had a puncture like a week ago and it is still in the garage. I did not bother togo for it because I have been busy with school and work. (Are your problems with your car important to keep in your story? I can’t see why. Omit them. I’d end the sentence after “carpooling.” You can write less than 1,000 words. That will be OK.how much time has moved/has passed, not movedWhat teams?late morning, not late morningsThe third sentence in the fourth paragraph is awkward and confusing. It needs to be rewritten. She has been my closest friend whom we happened to cross paths when working at the café, I was working as a barista; she was one of the employees in that café where she worked during the weekends and after classes.=Emerald, my closest friend, met while working together at the cafe. (If something doesn’t contribute to the core of your story, delete it. Emerald’s work schedule isn’t relevant as your piece is written now.So work on a core story, Karen, and edit and revise your writing well to eliminate those writing errors.
