Using a variety of instruments (Windshield Survey, Community Assessment Tool, Screening interviews, etc.) while in your community, you will assess the community location. This will lead to a list of identified, prioritized health needs and your recommendations for intervention. Instructions You will complete a windshield survey of your community. The objective of a windshield survey is to assess a community in a short, simple way, compiling data to help form an analysis of that community. Simply put, a windshield survey is the equivalent of a community head-to-toe assessment. There are 6 elements that should be included in your windshield survey (See attachment). You will drive through your community and document your findings on a powerpoint presentation. Take pictures of your community to enhance your powerpoint presentation. A. Familiarize yourself with the instruments for a Windshield Survey (Website Resource 15C, p. 425) and The Community Assessment Tool applied to Phenomenological Communities (Website Resource 15A, p. 425). You may also wish to review Chapter 13, Box 13-1 (p. 343) for examples of assessments that may be appropriate for your community population, since the Community Assessment Tool includes some screening data and information from clients. Paul Ehrlich and Julian Simon made a bet.  It was written about in a book by Paul Sabin called, appropriately, “The Bet”.  An interview where Sabin discusses the book is (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7mrTueunDg&feature=youtu.be) link to video.Another good place to learn about it is in this EconTalk podcast(https://www.econtalk.org/paul-sabin-on-ehrlich-simon-and-the-bet/)  (Links to an external site.) .  Although it is long, it is a really excellent discussion.   Sabin argues that there are things we can learn today from both sides.  What are they?  What are the economic principles that we can use to understand issues of development today?  What are the critiques that are important to keep in mind?

When this IMC concept was first developed in academic marketing circles, it focused on “not putting your eggs all in one basket”.  It meant if you do television advertising, make sure you also use another medium, like print and/or audio.  The theory was that people become aware, interested and will take action if you reach them through different senses.  The choice is yours which combination to pick, but the key is that the message is consistent. The idea is that the billboard or direct mail or print ad in a magazine should support your streaming or pop up or television or radio ads.  Consistency and continuity are the keys to success. You have been assigned to read Chapters 1  PROMO 2 textbook.  You have read about Brands and Positioning and Segmenting and the vastness of Internet communication possibilities.  With that as a background, re-read the first two pages of Chapter 1 in your PROMO 2 textbook.  Things are different today, right?  Consumers seek the information they want in a variety of ways.  They don’t just sit back and wait for information that companies decide to send them.  They are exposed to that, but mostly they go seek it. Assignment Instructions: Answer thoughtfully and thoroughly. In two pages, single-spaced, your team should collectively recreate your version of paragraph one in Chapter 1 of the textbook.  That means describe products and services that interest everyone on your team.  Now write a story about the many marketing communications, ads, blogs, influencers that find you, and you actually seek yourselves.    Use a combination of current products and your own real-life examples as analogies to explain your understanding of IMC.   Be specific.   What do you as the targeted customer want or need?  How do companies go about getting that information to you in this digital age? How do you go about finding the pre-buying information you need in this digital age?  Also, reflect on the ads and texts and intrusions into your life that you get about products and services that have absolutely no interest to you (at least right now at this stage of your life).  Make sure every member of your team contributes to all this.  You can each do a story of your own personal experiences with IMC if you want to approach it that way.  But then make sure you have an Introduction paragraph explaining that, and then a Conclusion paragraph that ties it all together and reflects on the similarities (and the differences if they exist) of each student’s experience.

Many ideas within Modern Science Fiction propose the theme of a fight with an alien race, a revamp of social structures, and the hope for the future residing with the youth of society.   After reading, “Ender’s Game,” find one other science fiction work(movie, book, short story) with similar themes as noted above.  Compare and contrast theses themes in a 2-3 page paper.   You may utilize your textbook as a source for this assignment and should secure one other source to compare/contrast.

The current DSM(5) supports a dimensional approach to abnormality, whereas the previous DSM(IV-TR) supported a categorical approach. Some psychologists have suggested that a dimensional model (where behavior exists on a continuum and “abnormal” is simply an extreme form of normal behaviors) may be more accurate.
