Assume that you are a program coordinator for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and you have been asked to participate in developing a strategic plan to develop and implement a new method to screen potential entrants to the United States. Your supervisor has suggested that the department utilize the Strategy Change Cycle to strategically plan for the best practices/methods of deciding upon and implementing the new plan. You will create a PowerPoint presentation to present your plan to the department. There are four critical success factors that are important for effective risk management: supportive organization; competent people; appropriate methods, tools, and techniques; and simple, scalable processes. Determine three obstacles for an organization to manage risk effectively. Suggest strategies from the perspective of a project manager to avoid the obstacles.

Imagine that you are sending this to your audience who has to make a decision in 5 minutes, so be very strategic. Keep in mind that the audience is too busy and might not pursue your proposal if you include information not directly relevant to your case and not be persuaded at all if you leave out elements that would make your case compelling and/or complete.

Strategic risk management is an important aspect of protection of an organization’s resources. The article highlights that it’s very important to have strategic risk management since we don’t know the time risk may occur. This has been a big gap left for big while by corporations and its now time that they put a lot of resources and time for strategic risk management to avoid getting to losses. This can only e achieved if the top management are willing to take correct interventions to save the organization from emerging issues.The best way of solving the situations is by the use of actions and decisions of line management which can be used in protection from the excessive risk in the organizations. The top management are entitled to develop the strategies that will help in curbing the gap between them and the ground employees. They are supposed to analyze the risk that the subordinate staff are providing in the risk list. This will offer a better chance of critically coming up with solutions to mitigate them.In the article, the writer gives steps that the CFOs should use so as to improve strategic risk management:Building a link between business planning process and the risk management to develop a good integration that will synchronize all the process In the business plan into one; Organize the corporate discussions that are geared to development of strategic plan of risk management; Another step is for CFOs to communicate on investment and strategic decisions using the risk analytics, they are supposed to come up with decisions that are based on the facts derived from the risk analytics. This will then guide the top management on the appropriate action to take.

Choose an organization according to the following: Current employer Most recent or former employer Place of business that you have patronized or have been familiar with over a long period of time. Avoid choosing an organization that is so large that historical data would be difficult to apply. Firms in the Russell 2000® index may fit well, whereas firms in the Dow 30 Industrial index probably do not. The organization can be a start-up that you or a significant other may create in the future. For a start-up, focus on an entrepreneurial idea that is of substantive interest, so this project leaves you with a product you may leverage in the future. Write a 1,050-word paper in which you address the following: Identify the major components of the strategic management process. Discuss how these components work together to create value for the organization. Evaluate the company’s mission statement, vision statement, motivation strategy, innovation strategy, and people strategy. If the organization does not have one or more of these, how does that affect the organization and its people? Explain the role of ethics and corporate social responsibility in strategic planning. How does this direct their strategy? How does the organization’s vision and mission align with your own values and vision? Question   I – Claire is severely injured in a car accident.  The local hospital cannot treat Claire’s injuries.  In order to survive, Claire must be flown via helicopter to a hospital in a bordering state.  Prior to boarding the helicopter, Claire signs a contract obligating her to pay for the helicopter flight and all of its expenses.  Claire lives and fully recovers.  However, she is being sued by the helicopter company in the amount of $50,000 for helicopter transportation and its accompanying expenses.  What is the argument Claire could make in order to rescind the agreement?  Does it matter that the helicopter company performed its obligation under the contract?  Question II – Sheila Seller and Bobby Buyer enter into a contract where Bobby agrees to buy widgets for $0.10/unit at 500 units per shipment.  The contract states that there shall be a minimum of 6 shipments between the parties.  Bobby’s payments are late on the first 3 shipments, and Bobby does not make the payment on the 4th shipment.  In the parties’ contract is a liquidation clause, which states that if either side is unable to perform his or her duties under the contract, then the other party shall receive damages in the amount of $100,000.  Should the court enforce these liquidated damages clause?

During this semester, you are to complete and report on 8 Unique Acts of Kindness. These Acts are not merely using good manners and basic civility.
